The Top 10 Sad Truths Behind The Simpsons
 
I just read this article listing the top 10 sad truths behind The Simpsons. It's an interesting read. I suggest you read the whole article to get the full picture but, if you'd prefer just a run down of what the top 10 sad truths are, check the spoiler tag.

10. Homer is a Furry.
9. Maggie's upbringing has left her Violent and Deranged.
8. Lisa is a heavily depressed outcast.
7. Springfield has a deeply corrupt, undertrained Police Department.
6. Bart is doomed to a life of faliure.
5. Marge's Artistic/Journalistic Talents are Wasted.
4. Principal Skinner is a deeply traumatized War Veteran.
3. Despite achieving so much, The Simpsons are still poor nobodies.
2. Marge and Homer are only still together because of Bart.
1. Homer's Traumatic Childhood.


Agree/Disagree? Any other "sad truths" you can think of?

Wasn't this show supposed to end a few years ago? Not being a dick, I could have sworn that it was supposed to end its run shortly after the movie.

I had read that The Simpsons was why Futurama was cancelled originally. Matt Groening wanted to end The Simpsons and focus on Futurama but the show brought in too much money so FOX cancelled Futurama and forced Matt to focus on The Simpsons.
No idea how much of that, if any, is true.

Also read rumours of a second Simpsons film. That would be a good place to end it.

I haven't heard anything about the show ending. In fact I don't think it was that long ago where I heard the cast signed on for 5 more seasons or something.

The last episode of The Simpsons is gonna be a huge deal. Damn.
