who was the more talented brother?

I was looking at the better tag team thread and it got me thinking, who would you say is the more talented Hardy bother? Jeff has been world champion but has "fallen off the wagon" several times and really hasn't added anything new to his arsenal since 2001. I would say Matt is the more technical Hardy in the ring, but even with cornrows/ dreadlocks he was still borring as hell.

Corporate CockSnogger 09-26-2012 01:55 PM

Jeff for me. Right from the very beginning Jeff was the more entertaining of the two. Matt had his moments of course but his high points (possibly a poor choice of words here) were never as frequent nor as impressive as Jeffs.

Perry Saturn 09-26-2012 02:01 PM

Jeff. Even though Mattitude V.1 was gold.

Big Vic 09-26-2012 02:01 PM

Matt DID hold the ECW World Championship, something Jeff could never do.

Rock Bottom 09-26-2012 02:28 PM

I voted for Jeff, because despite my hatred for him, he did not let out that cheesey "battle cry" nearly as often.

Matt Hardy got his own finishing move done on him by Lita. What a bitch.

whiteyford 09-26-2012 02:36 PM

Always thought Matt would be the bigger star in the long run, pity it's more a battle over whose the bigger fuck up though.

Joesgonnakillyou 09-26-2012 02:39 PM

Matt was the workman of the team, I always thought he was smoother in the ring than Jeff. He's a good solid hand who had his moments, at his peak could of had a good feud with a heel world champ. He was better than Jeff at promo's too. V1 was better than anything Jeff did

But Jeff did all the fireworks, and was just way more charismatic.

Typical wrestling paradox, the more talented one just didn't appeal to the peons. So because I feel a bit sorry for Matt I voted for him.

Both of them are fucking douches though

Joesgonnakillyou 09-26-2012 02:39 PM

Double post

Krimzon7 09-26-2012 02:42 PM

Taking that many drugs and not dying is absolutely a talent. Jeff wins

Taking that many drugs then driving a car and not dying is also impressive though. Don't count Matt out.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-26-2012 03:16 PM

I think Matt could carry a match better and wasn't just a spot-monkey most of the time. Too bad he got de-railed by the Lita/Edge thing and I think he just had enough being the responsible Hardy. If being a fuck-up brought Jeff multiple championships why not Matt?

irishmaster 09-26-2012 03:33 PM

Most talented entertainer was Jeff.
Most talented wrestler was Matt.
Most talented fuck - up, its so damn close.lol

XCaliber 09-26-2012 04:06 PM

No contest it's Jeff even if he was a bit of a spot monkey.

Tazz Dan 09-26-2012 04:13 PM

Jeff by a mile. I always found Matt to be a bit over-rated. That's just my opinion though.

ron the dial 09-26-2012 04:14 PM

jeff was always more entertaing. matt was good at what he did, but he was always the other brother in the equation for me.

Exactly this.

Overall, I liked Matt more. But in this industry, Jeff had more "fireworks" about him that made people like him.

Matt Hardy V1 was great though, really wish he'd kept that going longer.

Skippord 09-26-2012 04:54 PM

Matt is Hugo, Jeff is Bart

MoFo 09-26-2012 05:58 PM

Jeff was exciting, really struggling to think of a time where I was PUMPED to see Matt Hardy.

SummerSlam 2005.

Emperor Smeat 09-26-2012 06:27 PM

Overall it was Jeff.

Matt might have been the better one with actual wrestling skills but Jeff was a lot better as an entertainer which the WWE and TNA cares more in the end.

Same could be said of the other big tag teams of their era with Edge, Bubba, and Bradshaw being the better entertainer of their team.

Did you pull for Marty Janetty, too?

Curd 09-26-2012 11:11 PM

Jeff continues to use the high spots which had brought him prominence, even occasionally Swanton-ing through a table, and yet fans and promoters continue to buy him as above the station of "spot monkey." It takes tremendous charisma to do that! How many other "Flippy McFlips" (thanks Gertner) have been lost in the shuffle due to being vanilla midgets? But Jeff somehow makes it work!

Matt, not so much... and his Internet diatribes reek too much of "Millennial / Generation Y" egotism for someone who is squarely within the Generation X age range.

Shisen Kopf 09-26-2012 11:18 PM

This is like trying to pick between down syndrome and autism. Both fuckin rule and are funny as hell but not one is better than the other as they are both retarded.

Road Warrior 09-26-2012 11:27 PM

Matt, although Jeff was a bigger star, because of his look and the chances he took in the ring. Matt was better on the mic, and was just as good in the ring. I think Matt gets down voted a lot for the Lita thing, his V1 stuff was better than anything Jeff did.

Road Warrior 09-26-2012 11:28 PM

Mattitude fact: Matt thinks he should win this poll

dronepool 09-26-2012 11:32 PM

I always liked them, but Jeff was always more entertaining to me.

Kane Knight 09-27-2012 12:25 AM

Matt was more talented, Jeff was more popular. Most of Jeff's "Charisma" comes less from personality and more from his willingness to fall from high places. While I am the first to point out that charisma doesn't equal mic skills, Jeff doesn't really have either.

Now, as far as who's the bigger screw-up, that would be a match for the ages.

Keith 09-27-2012 01:31 AM

I can say that the one with the most potential was Jeff.

He never fully realized it, but he's got no one to blame but himself for that. Hell, he's still being given opportunities to redeem himself.

Matt was the Marty Jannetty of the duo, in more ways than one.

Speaking of which, both Jeff and HBK have sung their own entrance themes!

As far as I know Matt never tried to dive through the barber shop window like that coward Jannetty did.

But he did burn Jeff's house down, killing his dog, and almost killed Jeff by setting off the pyro in his face.

voncouch 09-27-2012 10:42 AM

Matt could wrestle. Jeff could jump off of tall things. Pretty much the long and the short of it.

But Jaysus, they were both terrible on the mic. North Carolina Trailer Park isn't the best dialect for a riveting promo.

Tommy Gunn 09-27-2012 03:00 PM

Matt's entire existence is to make the hot-tag to Jeff.

Rollermacka 09-27-2012 10:25 PM

Was I the only one that was intrested in what Matt was doing right before he left TNA? He kinda had a "crusty sour veteran" thing going right before he left? He had a new finisher and Flair I think was his manager (and lost the cheezy braids) but he left shortly after starting it.

Skippord 09-27-2012 11:35 PM

the third google hint thing when you type Matt Hardy is "Matt Hardy Dead"

interesting
