Games that are good but become boring

Most football games except for NCAA Football 2004
Vice City

mitch_h 12-19-2003 06:43 PM

The Sims

Ninti the Mad 12-19-2003 07:11 PM

The only time Vice City may get boring is after you pass it which shouldnt really count since you did everything already.

Hmmmm...

The Breath of Fire series. They are good but too many monster repititions. Throughout the entire game, all you see are the same monsters but in a different color.

Animal Crossing. I was hooked on that game for like 2 weeks, and played it non-stop, but now it's kind of lost that touch to me.

Grand Theft Auto games. They're fun to muck around with and dick around for a few days, but after that I found it kinda boring.

Capcom vs SNK 2. We got it and I played it for a few days but got bored. Then again, most fighting games bore me after a while anyways. :o I guess it's unfair to list Capcom vs SNK though since that's kept my attention longer than most fighting games.

I dunno, tons more NES ones and the like. I don't think my opinion is really important though, as I can spend hours on end playing Sim City 3000, so take that for what it's worth :o:o:o

Final Fantasy 11. And probably any MMORPG, but this is the only one that I've played.

You basically pay to do online chores. I dunno... I don't get how people get so hooked on a 'game' where you spend like 5 hours nonstop fighting to gain one level. Or you can go off and wander the gigantic map for hours on end trying to do quests, which is basically UPSing shit to places I could care less to go to.

Any of the Grand Theft or Medal of Honor games. Period.

Zelda games got boring hella fast for me..

I liked the Medal Of Honor games on PS1 :(

I beat both the Medal Of Honor and Underground ones, but I
liked the first game better by a whole lot :)

Boondock Saint 12-20-2003 04:08 AM

The Getaway. I love the game, even more than the GTA's, but once you beat it, there's nothing to really do. :-\ I hope they're making a sequel.

I am going to have to disagree with the FF11 comments. Since you havent played any other mmorpg I would see why you would think that about the game. I have only played 1 other, and that was everquest. I didnt play it long, but long enough to understand that mmorpg's require much patience. I think the game has an amazing engine, with some equally amazing graphics. It really only takes that long to level after you have gotten high. The game was designed in a way that if you were to go to certain areas and certain levels, it doesnt get harder/take longer to gain levels. The quests are a little lame at first, but they do get better along with getting better rewards. I started playing with a friend that had never played a mmorpg before. He played other FF games, and wanted to play this cause its a FF title. He didnt understand the patience factor or the fact that these kinda games are constantly monitored. Safe to say, he got blacklisted by a gm for obsessive cursing cause he thought that playing the game would be like any other online. He is used to bnet, where anything goes cause they dont give a crap about there games. Oh well guess my rant is over. I usually agree with you RBM but I guess the disagree had to come from somewhere.

Madden. Just traded it in for some $$$. Ok, it was for credit but it got boring. Rainbow Six 3 was getting tiresome too.

Sickboy 12-20-2003 08:10 AM

Pretty much every game becomes boring at some point.

Spoon Bender 12-20-2003 09:41 AM

Neverwinter Nights. It was such a good game for a little while but after it becomes a case of. "Oh another monster. I'll click on it and wait til my computer finishes playing the battle for me." Morrowind kept me hooked for much longer, it was glitchy as hell and the game pace was galcial. But at least you had some control over the combat.

Dude, aren't you one of the most rabid Diablo fans out there? :?:

Fox 12-20-2003 04:06 PM

The Matrix

Hella fun to jump around and shoot people in bullet-time, but after about the 5th level it all feels the same.

Ninti the Mad 12-20-2003 04:21 PM

I think he means games that you dont finish because they bore you.

If you passed them, I dont think it counts because obviously you arent going to play it as much as something you havent passed; albeit those awesome, awesome games that rule so hard.

Apocolyptik1 12-20-2003 05:14 PM

Yea, D2 got boring after 4 years haha. I can always go back to that game, but with the hacks and dupes and just overall gayness of most players, I dont think I am going to be going back to it for a long time. I believe if people payed to play on Bnet, then the server as a whole would be a lot better handled/managed.

I like NwN. The game does get boring if you play the same game over and over. Now they have 2 expansions out, and also thousands of mods on the internet you can download. If you dont want to sit there and have your computer wack monsters for you, then make a different character, easily solved. Trying playing a mage, it gets difficult after you run out of spells.

road doggy dogg 12-20-2003 08:23 PM

Yeah Diablo is the man. I've played it for like 3 years straight, and never really got "bored" of it. Just had desires to play different types of games. I'd still go back and play it any time, if I wasn't so pre-occupied with other games.

Silent 12-21-2003 04:48 AM

I played Diablo for many years, now I only go on to make sure my characters dont expire :-\

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-21-2003 05:09 AM
