Dynamite Kid Shoot Interview

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fTUkiWjHp-k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Some say he was the best wrestler ever, but I don't think a person needs to abuse themselves and other people to be the best at their job.

I never saw Tom Billington (a.k.a. Dynamite Kid) wrestle. He was before my time. I learned everything about him from reading Bret Hart's book and reading various other things about Dynamite Kid on the internet. If what I have read about Tom Billington is true, then that man deserved what happened to him. You can't just go around treating people however you like and think you're always going to get away with it.

Having typed that, I still think Billington is a fascinating individual. I am glad he slapped the Honky Tonk Man and made him cry - That is the only thing he did that I agree with.

I have never read Billington's bio, but I am going to at some point. I also would love to watch this documentary.

He's a classy gent when it comes to the Ladies.

Zeeboe 10-11-2012 11:03 AM

Of course. So am I. It's because we are looking to get laid.

Gertner 10-11-2012 11:12 AM

Probably the biggest douchebag in wrestling

Zeeboe 10-11-2012 11:16 AM

I agree. Good people make other people's lives better - Tom Billington made people's lives worst. He was a parasite.

Gertner 10-11-2012 11:18 AM

I read a biography on the Harts and it detailed some stories about Dyanmite and Davey Boy from Stampede Wrestling and I can honestly say Dynamite Kid deserves to be crippled like he is. What an asshole.

Vastardikai 10-11-2012 11:34 AM

Mick's jaw probably isn't a fan of his, either.

CSL 10-11-2012 12:04 PM

saw the trailer yesterday, been wanting to see this since it was announced. He's a prick but he's never pretended to be anything but

CSL 10-11-2012 12:08 PM

he's supposed to be doing one with RF Video as well, no idea if that is still happening

Cool King 10-11-2012 12:15 PM

I don't think I've ever seen an interview with Dynamite Kid that didn't have subtitles.

Also, when the subtitles say "I told the bitch off", I'm pretty sure he said "I told her to piss off".

Gerard 10-11-2012 12:16 PM

What is wrong with his voice? Seems to be mumbling rather than talking.

Ultra Mantis 10-11-2012 12:16 PM

Wigan accents are pretty hard to understand at the best of times but I couldn't make out half of what he said there. Then again, having his teeth knocked out won't have helped his diction.

Joesgonnakillyou 10-11-2012 02:30 PM

Pretty sure they got the subtitles wrong at one point, he didn't say "I told the bitch off". He said "I told her to piss off"

Hey c'mon now, our accent isn't *that* hard to understand in general, it's mostly the older generation of Wigan folk who come with the really thick, Lancashire dialect that's hard to grasp. :D

Jordan 10-11-2012 10:19 PM

You probably need subtitles so Royalty could comprehend you, bro.

Zeeboe 10-12-2012 10:25 AM

I am an American and I have a lot of English cousins whom I speak to on Skype all the time and I understand them fine and they understand me. Given that we all speak English, why wouldn't we know what we were saying to each other? However, I had no clue what Tom here was saying at all in the above clip. Thank goodness for the subtitles. I think it's all the drugs he takes that makes his speaking skills so poor.

Yeah, I find any conversation that begins with the words "Alreet cock" is never going to be easy to follow. The really thick accents are the worst though, I went to college with this Wigan guy and could barely understand a word he said apart from "rape". He sure did like his rape jokes :-\

Is Pure Dynmite worth reading? I heard it was interesting but a bit ridiculous too.

Seth82 10-13-2012 12:57 PM

I'm interested in seeing this. I do find him to be highly overrated though.

Seth82 10-13-2012 04:17 PM

this is the same asshole who broke mgr JR Foley's daughter's kneecaps for insurance money. yet more shining glory for this despicable scumbag.

CSL 10-13-2012 11:10 PM

not sure anybody ever said "Tom Billington: outstanding citizen"

RiX1024 10-14-2012 04:54 PM

I thought my Welsh accent was that bad, didn't understand him, thank god for subtitles.

Pure Dynamite was one of the first wrestling biographies I read, It's a fun little read if you go into it with the right mindset. Dynamite's point of view is kind of predictable - (he's always right in every situation he's ever been in, He's the toughest guy who ever lived so everytime somebody beat him up, he was tripleteamed or something, ect.) IE typical Bully BS. Looking past all that, there's some very fun moments to be had from reading it. Stories about his no dq matches with Bad News Brown in Stampede, the famous Honky Tonk Man story, stuff that Harley Race and Magnificent Muraco did while they were wasted, & a story about killing a goat for an African wrestler's christmas dinner spring to mind.

Yeah that troubles me too and I live here :D

Back on topic. Interested to hear Dynamite's versions of events. Hear so much about him but always from other sources.

some of it is interesting, but i thought it was poorly written and he tended to say "that's true" alot, which kinda irked me.

Zeeboe 11-05-2012 10:30 AM

I am currently reading his book and I am enjoying the hell out of it. I don't think he is as much as a prick as I thought he was and he seemed like he was just a product of his environment - i.e. He fucked with people so they wouldn't fuck with him.

EDIT - The above were my thoughts early on in the book. Well, I finished the book, and while I may understand him better, he is still a major prick and a bully.
