Who?
Quote:
So, who was Who? Anybody decent? Known as any other ring name(s)? |
|
In mid-1996, he had a stint as a masked heel under the name Who, a gimmick designed for commentators Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler to do Abbott and Costello "Who's on First?" routines during his matches (all of which he lost). He last wore the mask at SummerSlam 1996 as part of the "Bikini Beach Blast-Off" party held during the Free For All pre-show.

More like WHAT?!

i seem to recall an interview where neidhart was going to get a partner called what or why to tag with the who character.
|
I really can't fathom how this gimmick wasn't ever a main event act.
|
ha! forgot about this! i thought this was leading to some sort of joke about Chris Benoit not existing and WWE shooping a lucha mask on him in playbacks.
i also forgot that WWE has a history with repackaging a guy and hoping nobody notices. now that i think about it, "Mr. America" might have actually been a spoof of the trend. still doesnt excuse the Tensai angle, though. |

Natalya needs to get a gimmick named "Why?" where she wears a mask.
As a tribute. :) |
Mr. America was a blatant rip-off of a gimmick I was running in an E-fed I was playing. Was having "contract disputes", and so I put on a mask, and pretended to be a luchadore, with a really bad fake Mexican accent.... but it was really obvious that it was me.
The next month they come out with the Mr. America thing. Wasn't pretending to be a luchadore, but similar enough. I WAS ROBBED. |
Midnight Rider, anyone?
|
Are you accusing Lock Jaw of steaming a gimmick?
