Brad Maddox part of something huge... hopefully?

Is this going to be another one of those (intriguing) conspiracy storylines or is this another Anonymous Raw GM Hornswoggel nonsense conspiracy storyline?

Skippord 10-30-2012 07:33 AM

in the end they'll reveal "Brad Maddox" was actually two Hornswoggle's with one standing on the other's shoulders

whiteyford 10-30-2012 12:19 PM

Brad Maddox is the higher power and the guy behind the Nexus.

The Jayman 10-30-2012 12:28 PM

Brad Maddox did it for The Rock

Supreme Olajuwon 10-30-2012 12:30 PM

Loved on Raw last night they were like "Well some people even think Brad Maddox should be fired!" like that was the extreme position to take when a ref attacks a wrestler.

itsmeJD 10-30-2012 02:03 PM

Brad Maddox will be revealed as the biological love child of Nick Patrick and Dangerous Danny Davis.

Nicky Fives 10-30-2012 05:04 PM

He's trained as a wrestler..... I always assumed theat he'd be the Garrett Bischoff of WWE, introduce him as a ref and then transition him into a heel a la Danny Davis.....

After the opening Raw segment involving Foley and the anouncement of the traditional survivor series match, I really thought this was going to be the start of a heel stable of 'Paul Heyman Guys' fronted by Punk with Dean Ambrose, Maddox and others. I was devestated the second Miz was announced and then even more dismayed when Team Rhode Scholars (crapest name ever!!!) came out.

Devastated, ey?

It'd be the first pay per view to draw a negative buyrate

He also lifted the briefcase

Paul Heyman is a Brad Maddox guy.

Chavo Classic 10-30-2012 06:40 PM

So, has this actually been disclosed yet? I missed Raw and hate dealing with wwe.com

I think around Survivor Series, Brad will eventually join Punk, Lesnar, and Heyman. Punk may claim Maddox has his own motives, but I bet Punk will swerve us all.

This Maddox thing is going nowhere, it can't go anywhere. Literally nothing they could do would make any sense!

Could bring back SES and say that Maddox was the first new initiate.

Nobody cares what you have to say.

I actually hope that Brad Maddox isn't associated with CM Punk or Paul Heyman. At least right away. I think he could get tremendously over on his own. Have their match on RAW go something like this:

Maddox starts by fleeing the ring and running around the ring as Ryback gives chase. Maddox re-enters the ring and dropkicks Ryback through the ropes. Maddox goes for a pescado, but Ryback catches him and tosses him over his shoulder. He looks to drive Maddox into the ring post, but Maddox slips out and pushes Ryback into the ring post. Maddox then hits a missile dropkick from the ring apron on Ryback, sending him into the ring post again. Maddox re-enters the ring and frantically begs the referee to count. Ryback gets back in the ring and Maddox jumps on the injured shoulder of Ryback, but Ryback overpowers Maddox pretty easily, and hits some of his basic moves, before Maddox again evades the Meat Hook by sliding out of the ring. Ryback gives chase and beats Maddox around the ringside area. He hits a belly-to-belly overhead suplex on the floor, and then military presses Maddox back into the ring. Ryback re-enters and hits Maddox with some of his heavier moves (like his powerbombs) and then connects with the Meat Hook. Ryback gets Maddox up for Shell Shocked and hits the move. Ryback covers Maddox, but pulls his shoulders up before the three count. Ryback pulls Maddox up and hits him with a second Shell Shocked. Michael Cole informs us that Ryback is just torturing Maddox now. He pulls Maddox up again and the referee is telling Ryback to stop. Ryback just glares at the referee and hits Maddox with a third Shell Shocked. The ref rings the bell and Cole and JBL talk in their serious voices about how this is for the best. Justin Roberts converses with the official and announces to us that "The winner of the match...as a result of a disqualification... Brad Maddox!" Cole and JBL are shocked, and the referee gets out of town as Ryback is furious. Ryback picks up Maddox and hits him with a fourth Shell Shocked, to really drive his dominance home, and then heads to the back as Maddox gets medical attention. You can even have Maddox raise his arm triumphantly (but meekly) as he is being rolled up the ramp.

Mr. McMahon confronts Ryback backstage and is furious that he now has to hand Maddox a million dollar contract. Ryback tells Vince that he doesn't give a damn about his money, and he doesn't give a damn about Brad Maddox. Vince cools off and backs down (which alone would put Ryback over). You can also do a backstage segment where the referee who called the match is interviewed, and the referee says that Brad Maddox is a nice guy and "one of them," which could add depth to Maddox's persona (a sly, dirt-bag heel that is actually a nice guy in every other aspect of his life), but could also lead to a WWE.com article, where the referees talk about their feelings on what Maddox did, with some talking about how he embarrassed the stripes; while some stand by the referee in Ryback/Maddox's decision, since he had the safety of performers in mind, and Ryback purposely ignored a command from the official.

You then have Maddox giving us health updates over the next few weeks, in a really smarmy tone (not unlike Randy Orton's RNN updates), even doing them from five star resorts in tropical paradises and the like. When it comes time for "Million Dollar" Maddox to return, you have him show up in a nice convertible with attractive women either side of him and a smug look on his face.

He could be one of the more grating mid-card heels in a long time.
