So when John Cena debuted
Did anybody think he'd be the face of the company?
Not really but I also thought the Rock would be a jobber too when he debuted.
I didn't think he'd be a jobber because of his match against Kurt. That's a pretty big debut.
I didn't watch SmackDown back when John Cena debuted, so I think the first time I saw him was when he entered the 2003 Royal Rumble. That's my earliest memory of him anyway.
I thought he was pretty cool at first, rapping his way to the ring but I just thought he was just another guy with a gimmick I've never seen before. I never thought he would become the face of the company. |
Most of the people that "made it", I thought wouldn't.
I remember thinking Orton was just "another one of those guys" who get labeled as the future of the company, and then end up doing nothing. |
Don't think I ever thought anyone would be the face of the company off their debut.
I remember really liking him but there's no way you could have made that leap.

I remember seeing his debut and thinking "Damn, that dude's got something." of course I saw it about a year after the fact on a recording so I already had an idea of what he was capable of by then. I'm thinking that had I seen it live I would have probably not cared.

hated him as his face, with his generic theme he first debuted with
when he started rapping, I knew he'd be big. I got his autograph during that time before anyone knew who he was  |
He made an impact in his debut. Should have known he was going to be big but no one could have predicted he would be the face of the company
I remember when he came in and people thought him and Orlando Jordan were going to be the shit. 1/2 right I suppose.

oh wait you said "the shit" I accidentally missed the "the" in that... |
I thought the Heart Throbs would be the two biggest stars in WWE by now. Boy is my face red.
and yet each one went on to become one of the all time greatest legends of all time!
I imagine Rock was a huge hit In Da Club by 50 Cent when he'd roll in with that hairdo
Bart Gunn looks like Evan Bourne's dad
Yeah, Bart started as a jobber but Brawl-for-All put him over the top as did his epic against Butterbean.
looking at old Rock pics, totally forgot that he used to be a little bit of a chubster back in the day
top Mania moments ever:
3. Flair retires 2. Hogan slams Andre 1. Butterbean ends the life of Bart Gunn live on PPV |

He's Samoan. That's how that works.
Isn't it convenient that once they stopped pushing his islander heritage and started pushing his black heritage, he went from bulky to cut<br><br><br>

whoaaaaaaaaaa, ABT's post wasn't there when I started making that last post<br><br>WHOAAAAAAAAAA<br>
You don't know about the "insert post" function?
cena was always a midcarder in my ewr games
I was there that night! It was a good match, but I never thought he'd be the face of the company. It didn't take long though. 2006-2007 it became him? If HHH wanted to be the face of the company all those years, he could have and still could be.

I saw his first match on NXT, and I told everyone here that he would be huge once he dropped the goofy gimmick. |
They had him go up against Angle and made Cena look good so I figured they probably had some type of big plan for him.

No way I thought he's be 'the guy' in his first few months. I spent most of the time laughing at his luminous attire...

For those who would rather just hit "play" than the link to the Cena debut vid...

Yea, forgot bout the lazies.
I tried embedding every which way with all the code options and it wouldn't work. Now I am stuck @ work and can't even get to Youtube w/o the IT police coming to my desk asking why I circumvented their web filter. Too tired & hungover from SS last night, good times. Cena fans still suck :foc: |
