I was watching the Bret hart DVD on Sunday and I was shaking my head. My girlfriend (who knows nothing of Wrestling) asked me why I was shaking my head, and I said pretty much what you just posted.

She wasn't interested.

Bret Hart was one of the best rasslers ever and I don't know why so many people shit on him. And yeah it's sad about the three dead ones. Fuck Niedhardt though he knew what he was getting into so he got what he deserved. By far the worst of that group.

Yeah I'm not saying take pitty on poor Neidhart because he did something dumb, just that it's pretty sad what became of The Hart Foundation.

Ya really can't put Owen in there. He died due to a stunt gone terribly wrong. It's not like he has a (known) history of drug abuse. What happened to Owen was (arguably) out of his control. With Davey Boy and Pillman, drugs played a huge role in their deaths. It doesn't make it any less tragic, but one accident shouldn't be lumped in with two drug related deaths.

It wasn't just the kick from Goldberg that ended his career though. I thought that Bret suffered multiple concussions during that match.

I read that Bret knocked himself out when he was putting in the figure four on the ring post (check out how his head bounces off the floor at 14:54). So in reality, Goldberg didn't concuss Bret. Bret concussed Bret. :p
