Lizzie McGuire movie came out in May in theaters and August on DVD/video.

Yeah it only takes like three months or so nowadays for DVDs to come out. They do it so movies are still fresh in people's minds once the DVD is released.

Others come out really long after, though. Elf isn't coming out until November. Like a year after. But it capitalizes on Christmas.

Yeah it is all about marketing.

Miracle is coming out soon cause of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and Elf is coming out for Christmas.

It's all about the $$$$$

Scary Movie 3 is barely coming out.

Secret Window is also being released in mid June.
