WWE Bringing back old names? Lets make some guesses!

From PWInsider:

WHY YOU MAY START SEEING SOME OLD FACES POPPING UP IN WWE
by Mike Johnson @ 10:58 AM on 12/8/2012

Don't be shocked to see some former WWE mid-card names returning to the company in the near future. In recent weeks, there has been a push from several top talents for the company to bring back some former talents that were released in the past but were solid hands.

The word is that WWE management has taken the suggestion to heart as the company has never been so thin on talent across the board. We are told they are looking at bringing back some names that can populate the mid-card to work with younger names and help bring them along, as well as provide some solid work on the show.

I am told there is a short list of potential names they are interested in, but the company has not yet begun contacting talents. That process could begin any time.

Rhyno
Daivari

Bad News Gertner 12-08-2012 01:16 PM

PLEASE let it be Mike Knox.

The Condor 12-08-2012 01:17 PM

Mantaur.

Ultra Mantis 12-08-2012 01:20 PM

Carlito, Dean Malenko and Rick Martel

Droford 12-08-2012 01:21 PM

If Vince had the power to bring the dead back to life, I doubt those 3 would be on the top 100 dead wrestlers to bring back list

Corporate CockSnogger 12-08-2012 01:26 PM

BILLY GUNNNNNNNN

DLVH84 12-08-2012 01:37 PM

The Ultimate Warrior

Lock Jaw 12-08-2012 01:39 PM

DDP

loopydate 12-08-2012 01:45 PM

John Morrison
Sean Morley
New Age Outlaws
Finlay

Corporate CockSnogger 12-08-2012 01:45 PM

Would love DDP to come back. I guess he'll be somebody they'd at least ask considering they've used him here and there in the past year.

Unless they see him as being too old to contribute.

Maybe they're just looking at going for regular mid card talent that probably doesn't have the chance to get incredibly over, but can do a solid job for them in the middle of the pack and help get some of their other guys over.

Lock Jaw 12-08-2012 01:50 PM

Steve Blackman.

whiteyford 12-08-2012 01:52 PM

Rhino was the first name that came to mind, could still work as a US/IC title holder pretty easily and act as a gateway opponent to the big belts.

Vastardikai 12-08-2012 02:08 PM

Rhyno
Luke Gallows
Colt Cabana

I know 2 of them are in TNA, but yeah...

DLVH84 12-08-2012 02:11 PM

The Orient Express

...

DLVH84 12-08-2012 02:15 PM

2 Cold Scorpio

loopydate 12-08-2012 02:17 PM

That I could see. Scorp would need to lose some weight, but he could be a good enhancement talent for some of the young high-flyers. Plus, he can bump for the big guys.

Jake Roberts
Scott Hall
Lex Luger

Pintint 12-08-2012 02:49 PM

I wish it was Gangrel but he's probably 380lbs now.

Hopefully it will be Viscera, Mideon, Billy Gunn and Just Joe in a new super stable.

Nicky Fives 12-08-2012 02:53 PM

John Morrison, Chris Masters & Carlito all immediately jump to mind.....

Probably the most likely post in the thread. As much as most people would like it, I doubt they're going to bring back many guys from earlier than say 2004 or 2005.

whiteyford 12-08-2012 03:07 PM

Bob Backlund can still go.

is Masters part of TNA? Morrison is the only one of the 3 I could see conceivably coming back for this show.

whiteyford 12-08-2012 03:14 PM

Carlito and Morrison both have standing offers to return supposedly, can't see Carlito coming back though with all the shit talking he does which is a shame. Could see Taka or Tajiri coming back for a short run, both guys can still go but realistically can't see them doing it.

If it's Paul Iamond they could do Max Moox AND the Orient Express.

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2012 03:19 PM

What's DH up to? Elijah Burke? Kevin Thorn?

whiteyford 12-08-2012 03:20 PM

Japan/TNA/No Idea

Shisen Kopf 12-08-2012 03:22 PM

Maybe it's gonna be The Genius to team up w/Sandow that would be hella tight yo!

Anybody Thrilla 12-08-2012 03:24 PM

TNA has Fetus, so maybe WWE can bring back Jesse.

Nicky Fives 12-08-2012 03:32 PM

DH Smith would be nice as well, assuming he could pass a drug test, I'd much rather see a Hart Dynaty reunion with Tyson Kidd than seeing Kidd waste his time with that fairy plug Justin Gabriel.....

Pintint 12-08-2012 03:49 PM

I am guessing Tomko isn't going to be one of them

DH Smith returned to NJPW and is currently one-half of the IWGP Tag Team Champions. Elijah Burke is still with TNA and is injured. Kevin Thorn, I'm not sure.
