Tag team division dead again?

For a few months it seemed like the tag team division was turning over a new leaf. Teams like the Usos, Prime Time Players, and Primo and Epico were getting some good air time and matches. There were feuds away from the belt (With AW going with the Prime Time Players) and matches were being put on every ppv.

Now all the tag teams are being squashed by teams thrown together by 2 random people. Team Hell No (Which is a nice team but still was thrown together), the two masked Mexicans, and Team Rhode Scholars. Prime Time Players seemed to be the only team with a little bit of steam a couple weeks ago but after the 4 way tag match that is offically gone.

Do you think they screwed up the division again? Was it never really coming around? Or is it better than it has been in years?

Theo Dious 12-12-2012 09:42 PM

Bryan and Kane make tag team competition worth watching. The Prime Time Players suck ass and every other team they're pushing right now is better than them and they should have been future endeavored along with AW.

Theo Dious 12-12-2012 09:43 PM

They did fuck up an opportunity with the tag titles at TLC though. The stip should have been if the Shield wins they become tag champs a la the Freebird rule, and if Ryback/Hell No wins Ryback gets another shot at Punk.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-12-2012 10:31 PM

Prime Time Players started as two black guys being thrown together. The only thing that scares me about the division is Kenneth Cameron being fired. I think Ascension could have been really good. Rhode Scholars and Rey/Cara are solid tag teams.

Having two established former World Champions can only be good for the tag team titles. Team Hell No is a great team.

Is Team Co-Bro still around or is that done?

dingdongyo 12-12-2012 11:42 PM

it's starting to get treated like the divas, i.e. flavor of the month. "oh, let's have the usos just start kicking ass out of nowhere for a while." at least it wasn't a title change that night.

I like the PTP and if anyone is talking shit about them; i hope you catch The AIDS from beth82.

On Raw the fans were really responding to the Usos, and the PTP are getting more reactions latelly. Titus' bark gets big responses today

Anybody Thrilla 12-13-2012 04:41 PM

I just like that I can actually name like seven tag teams.

Titus was WAY over with the Survivor Series crowd. It didn't transition to TV well because of the rest of the noise, but over none the less.

Anybody Thrilla 12-13-2012 05:11 PM

I think whoever becomes champs after Hell No will tell us how they feel about the division.

Also, are Khali and Hornswoggle an actual team now?

Shadrick 12-13-2012 06:11 PM

PTP is dope, especially Titus. The subtle shit they do, even in singles matches, are entertaining.

This is now a valid statement.

I like Tyson Kid and that 450 splash guy.

Yeah, they're actually a very good team. But they don't even have a name, or at least WWE hasn't stressed it. It's not that we don't have good tag teams, it's just that most of them lack an identity and feel like random guys thrown together.

What the supreme answer for everything?

MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!!!

Anybody Thrilla 12-14-2012 02:32 AM

Team Hell No
Team Rhodes Scholars
The Prime Time Players
Mysterio and Sin Cara
The Usos
Primo and Epico
3MB
Team Cobro
Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd
The Great Khali and Horswoggle (I swear, this is happening)

Even Kofi and R-Truth can still pass as a tag team.

Look at that list. Now think back to the tag division when McGuillicutty and Otunga were champs. I'd say things are definitely moving in a positive direction.

Saving Grace 12-14-2012 02:34 AM

Would have the Ascension on the main roster as a tag team had Kenneth Cameron not fucked up and gotten fired. Would have been a great addition to the Tag Team Division and they could have been sure fire champions.

Anybody Thrilla 12-14-2012 02:35 AM

Oh yeah, there's those Shield guys too.

Saving Grace 12-14-2012 02:37 AM

Honestly throw Reigns and Ambrose together as a team, Seth Rollins needs to be a singles wrestler, the guy has all the tools to be the next breakout star in the main event minus needing some mic work.

DLVH84 12-14-2012 12:56 PM

There's quite a few tag team specialists working as trainers for NXT...So I believe more will be coming.

Don't forget Ricky Steamboat, Steve Keirn, Robbie Brookside, Dusty Rhodes, and Bill DeMott.

Saving Grace 12-14-2012 01:39 PM

sorry but Demott is probably the WORST trainer they have there. Norman Smiley is a better trainer than old Billy Bill who thinks hey i was in the business 20 years not i can slap around fresh meat to the business and think i'm someone.

They actually do have a name: International Airstrike

Didn't know this either. Just read he got released after being charged with battery of a law enforcement officer on Nov 30.

Mr. Nerfect 12-14-2012 10:28 PM

I'm really digging Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel's little rivarly with 3MB. I also wouldn't mind David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty reforming their team to feud with Zack Ryder & Santino Marella on Superstars. It wouldn't shock the world or anything, but McGillicutty can help Otunga with ring development, and Otunga can help McGillicutty with persona.

Epico & Primo seem to be without direction at the moment, which is a shame, because I feel they could be a really awesome team. They just lack something that makes them stand-out as a threat to any face team. That'll be OK for a few weeks, since they can feud with The Usos while Rhodes Scholars are busy with Kane & Daniel Bryan. The Usos getting a few wins over these guys for a few weeks could do them wonders to start forming a long-term connection with audiences.

I would rather The Great Khali be teaming with Trent Barreta or Yoshi Tatsu, but whatever.

Rhodes Scholars seem like a real tag team, and although I can't see them taking the WWE Tag Team Titles from Team Hell No, I could see them opening the Royal Rumble against the Tag Champs. I'm honestly not sure what team will take the belts off Team Hell No. I'm not really too fussed about seeing them pass them on, to be honest. I'm still sort of hoping for Antonio Cesaro & Kassius Ohno to form a team in time for WrestleMania.

Hanso Amore 12-14-2012 10:47 PM

Now we just need more teams to use tag finishers.

Who even has a team finisher besides PTP?

Mr. Nerfect 12-14-2012 10:58 PM

Kidd & Gabriel use an assisted Blockbuster.

Rollins is terrible. He's your typical indie vanilla midget beanpole.

Shisen Kopf 12-15-2012 01:59 AM

Rollins looks like an IT guy we used to have. Doesn't work there now b/c he had to train this forehead dot Indian to replace him. So yeah Seth Rollins would be great at training Indians (curry) to take his spot...put him in a program w/Khali.

Shisen Kopf 12-15-2012 01:59 AM

Team H1-B

"That 450 splash guy"? Please keep your racism off the boards. There's no room for that here.
