If you could re-read/watch a series as if you never did before...
Which would you pick and why?
Asked my wife this earlier, she picked Lost and I did as well with Harry Potter being a close second. Think Lord of The Rings would be high on my list as well. Howboutchu? |
Oh and please put any major plot details in spoiler tags. if you enjoyed it that much, don't ruin it for others.

The Sopranos. I fucking LOVE that show.

I still haven't gotten around to watching that though it is on my list.

I was going to say Lost or Buffy/Angel, however as I started writing about each I realised that maybe I wouldn't want to watch them from scratch at this age.
Lost is probably my favourite piece of media ever. Watched it from the moment the pilot aired and loved it from that point. Made sure to always watch the new episodes the instant they were out. So many huge twists and turns in the show that I'd love to be able to enjoy with a fresh mind again. Although part of the enjoyment of it with me at the time was speculating what was going to happen on forums, including this one in the later seasons. Not sure it would be the same if I were to watch it fresh at this point, because nobody else is talking about it. Buffy and Angel I watched while it was on tv too, so I was a lot younger, only 9 when the show started, and probably couldn't appreciate it as much as if I were to watch it fresh at this age. I've watched it several times since and the first time I re-watched it when I was older, there was a lot more that I could appreciate, but I still knew all the basic plotlines. As much as I love the shows for their content anyway, I wonder if part of it's appeal to me is some nostalgia, I don't really know. |
Lost
|
The WIRE!!! This series was such a gripping portrayal of the City of Baltimore. I fell in love with all of the characters as i realized that the only protagonist was the city itself.
|
Doctor Who, so I could joke about all of Steven Moffatt's ideas coming from John Dies at the End.

I'd probably go for Lost. I'm still planning on re-watching it some day, but I'd just love to be able to go through it again from scratch. |

TV Series : Beavis & Butthead.
Book Series : Dark Elf Trilogy (followed by the other Drizzt books) |
Has to be Lost. Especially if we're talking in the moment (at the time it originally aired). Watching it week by week definitely added to the excitement.
|
LOST definitely. I wish it would come back on TV and that nobody had ever seen it before. I would love to be involved in it from the start instead of 3 seasons in already. I got to be a part of the last 3 seasons of the show as they happened, and it was fantastic. So many theories and newness to the show that always blew my mind every week.
Watching it again when knowing things that happen is still great, as I now notice all kinds of connections that would have been impossible to really archive the first time around. I've seen these first 3-4 seasons at least 4 or 5 times, and STILL am noticing little things that connect statements/events to other things. But to be a part of that all over again and take part in the mystery each week.. Would be incredible. |
TV Series- South Park- I didn't really get into it until season 8 or so and I'd like to watch the whole thing, though I hear the first season or two are rough.
Movie Series- I'm definitely not one for sequels, but Indiana Jones trilogy (only THE original trilogy) was awesome in my youth and I haven't seen them in a while. Like to recapture the "magic" |
I'd watch the original Star Wars trilogy.
And Entourage for TV |
TV - 24
Caught it right in the middle of the series and by then Jack was already starting to become a mess mentally but missed out on all the stuff that lead to it occurring. Movies - Star Wars but in chronological order. Loved the original set and only managed to like parts if the newer set but the whole story itself is really great. |
I'd say the Star Trek films 1 throught 10 just so I could get a new perspective from the Abrams version.
|
Just want to say my cousin had a point when he said The Simpsons. Imagine watching seasons 1-10 again.
|
TV-Deep Space Nine
Movies: Back to the future books-potter. |

Season 6 was a disappointment after season 5 and how it ended. S6 could have been so epic, but it came off rather lacking.
