regarding The Sheik when it came to heat generation, especially in the very late 60s and first half of the 70s, he was the equivilent of a nuclear furnace. Off the charts.

The matches themselves might only last 5 minutes or so, but the lead-up and aftermath could keep the entire encouter in the ring for 15 mintues or better sometimes (there was often lots of action happening before the bell rang, and often enough afterward, too).

Was there more sheiks or ultimate warriors?

There were more Nature Boys then anything else I believe.

Beth, this is pretty much right on. I am from Detroit and I've only heard about him in passing. Everyone knows the D's biggest rassler is George the Animal or Nash. I get what you are trying to do but it fails miserably. Most people havent heard of any of these guys at all. This reminds me of when my social studies teacher mistook The Sheik for the The Iron Sheik, "He looks a lot different than what I remember!" I tried explaining how they wrestled in different feds and hence weren't the same, but he couldn't fathom two wrestlers having such similar names. I finally made like Abdullah the Butcher and thought, "Fork it all!" :)
