WM XXIX HOF inductees list from the wrestling observer

credit: wrestlinginc/f4wrestling

Since the HOF is taking place in MSG they want it to have a NY theme and honor the famous arena.

*The Rock (debuted at Survivor Series 96 @ MSG)
*Mick Foley (watched Snuka fly off the cage @ MSG)
*Nasty Boys (billed as from NYC)
*Harlem Heat (billed as from Harlem)

HHH desperately wants Bruno Sammartino (MSG legend) and WWE desperately wants Owen Hart (beat Bret Hart @ WMX) but neither is a definitive lock.

Nicky Fives 12-29-2012 08:31 PM

Nasty Boys? really? with all the great names not in already..... British Bulldog, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Paul Heyman, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Bam Bam Bigelow, Sting, Vader, Bob Backlund, Big Boss Man, Demolition, The Freebirds, Jim Cornette, Slick, need I go on?

owenbrown 12-29-2012 08:34 PM

Austin is in the HOF already

owenbrown 12-29-2012 08:34 PM

2009

Xero 12-29-2012 08:47 PM

Of all the things to note about Foley, it's the Snuka thing? Not the fact that Cactus Jack debuted in WWE at the Garden? Or Foley vs Hunter at Rumble 2000?

owenbrown 12-29-2012 08:49 PM

WWE surely once they make it official (if true) will include that stuff in their video of Foley

forgot about that, my bad.....

My preferred lineup (won't happen):

Headliner: Vince
Alternate: Vince is the only one inducted and it's basically a 2-3 hour roast.
Alternates to Vince: Foley or Triple H

Second Tier: Savage/Liz, Heyman, Bruno

Team: Rock and Sock Connection

Celebrity: Cyndi Lauper and/or Mr. T

Filler: Jim Johnston

Emperor Smeat 12-29-2012 09:10 PM

:wtf: Nasty Boys being included.

Thought Harlem Heat would have been a bit of a stretch instead of just taking Booker T but didn't know they won 10 WCW tag titles. Would put them on the level of E&C and Dudley Boys in the WWF for comparisons and worthy of being inducted.

If they really wanted an homage to MSG moments, maybe Razor Ramon instead of the Nasty Boys because of the memorable ladder match from Mania X.

The WWE "Hall of Fame" has just become a political kiss-ass fest. It's a place to get jerked off on paper. It has a duality in the sense that it seems legit for a lot of guys, but for others, it seems purely political. Some wrestlers have been inducted who are relatives to big stars in the WWE, preceding a rather incomplete list of wrestling legends and greats in induction.

Now you're inducting the Nasty Boys because you want to stack more "legacy" on a relationship between the company and the arena. They're from New York. Other than that, they've held tag team titles in just about every major promotion, but they never stayed around long anywhere.

To be blunt, the Nasty Boys didn't do shit for wrestling. They were spokes on the wheel.

The Hall of Fame should be reserved for people who have spearheaded the WWE's mission to become the one-stop-shop for wrestling and "sports entertainment." Perhaps even deserving Hall of Fame recognition are those who had their "great moments," those things that made you totally mark out.

Before recently, I had never even heard of Mil Mascaras. That excludes me from being allowed to say whether or not he's worthy of the Hall of Fame, but isn't "Fame" part of the whole thing?

I just don't think the Nasty Boys belong in the company of Hulk Hogan. I piss on the WWE Hall of Fame with my dick.

Xero 12-29-2012 09:34 PM

Hogan thinks the Nasty Boys belong in the company of Hogan.

Rock Bottom 12-29-2012 09:35 PM

Hulk Hogan is standing right behind me telling me that's bullshit.

Xero 12-29-2012 09:38 PM

I dunno, he brought them on his tour. And to TNA...

Lock Jaw 12-29-2012 11:05 PM

I love when people get "pissed" at the WWE HoF.

Anyways, if Booker T ever goes in to the HoF, it will definitely be by himself, and not as part of Harlem Heat. He probably won't go in for a long time though. Until they are desperate for a "headline" or "Number Two" name for the induction.

Droford 12-29-2012 11:19 PM

Brooklyn brawler > nasty boys

Bad News Gertner 12-29-2012 11:40 PM

Nasty Boys were amazing. Soooo happy they are going in over the garbage Bulldogs

Slick?

slik 12-30-2012 12:20 AM

Is Jimmy Hart in the HOF yet?

James Steele 12-30-2012 12:46 AM

This reminds me of how the HoF in 2011 was supposed to be "WCW themed" since they were in Atlanta, Georgia.

James Steele 12-30-2012 12:47 AM

Basically, I'm calling bullshit on this.

I would love for them to do a big roast/send-up for Vince, but I don't know if he'd ever do it.

owenbrown 12-30-2012 01:13 AM

That would have to be a completely different event apart from the HOF

If this is true, then you have no business commenting on what a wrestling hall of fame should or shouldn't be.

whiteyford 12-30-2012 04:46 AM

Can't believe any wrestling fan hasn't heard of Mil Mascaras, even if they haven't seen any of stuff.

whiteyford 12-30-2012 04:46 AM

Did you know who Inoki was?

SNLfunnyguy 12-30-2012 08:47 AM

Foley should be the headline act of a HOF line up... putting Rock in there would massively shadow him and would be a waster. They are running out of top names to go in, they have to milk this shizzle. If Rock is at Wrestlemania wrestling, it's not needed.

Anyway, put in Sign Guy Dudley.

If you do go on, can you make a point.

James Steele 12-30-2012 12:27 PM

I say they need to induct Triple H.

James Steele 12-30-2012 12:28 PM

...then when the fans start chanting "ONE MORE MATCH!" he says "Good idea! Punk, I'm adding myself to the title match tomorrow night. IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!"

I'd mark the fuck out.

Bad News Gertner 12-30-2012 12:39 PM

It'd be even better if that over-rated owners daughter banging fuck had a heart attack and died onstage.

James Steele 12-30-2012 02:30 PM

I would like to see Mick Foley inducted.

Too many heart attack angles.

You don't love it at all. It has nothing to do with you, shut up.

I am also pissing on it.

Or that he's from Long Island.

Tazz Dan 12-30-2012 06:24 PM

Do you think there's some guy somewhere laughing his ass off over the IWC's reaction to a fake list he made up?

weather vane 12-30-2012 08:02 PM

Demolition

Corporate CockSnogger 12-30-2012 08:14 PM

New Age Outlaws will go in.

Corndad 12-30-2012 10:20 PM

Mr T needs to go in this year. Period.

whiteyford 12-31-2012 04:04 AM

It's Mr T that's refusing to go in.

addy2hotty 12-31-2012 05:52 AM

The Nasty Boys are just plain nasty.

Annoyed Pete Rose went in apparantly. T deserves it though.
