Post Mania
From the front:
Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter At this time, it appears as if a Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H rematch will take place at WrestleMania 29. Lesnar is expected to return to WWE TV sometime in February and will then make regular appearances to build to the WrestleMania 29 match. Lesnar’s current deal will end right after WrestleMania. The feeling is that WWE will offer him another deal, as they were happy with the pay-per-view numbers as well as Lesnar’s performances against John Cena at Extreme Rules and Triple H at SummerSlam. If Lesnar doesn’t sign a new contract, WWE will be faced with a the annual “WrestleMania hangover” dilemma of their special attraction talents (Lesnar, The Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H) all leaving once again. None of these guys will be working a full-time schedule following WrestleMania 29. How many times can they "go back to the well" before they realize they need to build some names to the level of said wrestlers above? Not taking away from any of the current roster, and I get the "spectacle" of Mania and what not. Doesn't it speak volumes, though, when they feel the need to get those names for a one-night deal? :| |
Not surprised really.
I'm just dreading Cena/Rock III possibly happening at WMXXX. |
I enjoy seeing these guys coming back more than seeing most the usual guys, but I'm not really excited by the currently proposed matches. Trips v Lesnar and Rock v Cena just seem too predictable.
|
Come on, I do not want to see Lesnar/HHH 2
|
Well if Big Vic doesn't want to see it, can someone put a call into Vince for us.

The Lesnar signing was completely mishandled and bungled from the beginning. Cena and Triple H should not have been involved and a Wrestlemania match between H and Lesnar is not going to matter. We already saw it and Lesnar should have been used to attempt to elevate an upcoming talent. It wouldn't have been a gimme, but an attempt would have been more desirable and productive than HHH putting himself over a "monster."

As far as Mania 29 is concerned though, as long as Lesnar/Helmsley, or Taker/(Let's say Kane for now), doesn't hold main event over the WWE Championship match. Give that belt the spot it deserves. |
To be honest, I didn't get into HHH/Lesnar the first time. I guess the question is though, in the time between now and Mania, who would you like to see Lesnar in a feud with? And should he go over? And if so should it be a big name, or somebody on 'the way up'. And if it's not a major name, winning or losing does it put the icing on the cake as a lacklustre run this time around?
|
I'd love to see Punk/Lesnar instead or Lesnar/Sheamus. I don't think he should go over either but I'd like to see him win matches on Raw (or win the elimination chamber)
|
They're intent on shoving Miz down our throats, Sheamus, even turning someone with a brawler style face (Barrett). It could have been done with whomever they chose. Doesn't mean it would be successful, just more productive and a step forward.
|
Sheamus/Lesnar would be horrible. I do like the suggestion of Punk/Lesnar though.
|
I would actually like to see Lesnar/Bryan in a wrestling match. After the Goldberg fiasco at WMXX, personally I'm not excited in seeing him in a 'brawling' style of bout. That's just my opinion there though.

Sheamus would be a great contender for Lesnar, but I don't think it would sell. It'd be too brawl-y to be taken seriously. Perhaps in an Extreme Rules environment it would go over well. |
The ideal one would be Billy Gunn returning at the rumble and eliminating Lesnar setting up a feud, and going over Lesnar at Mania after Brock wins a title at the elimination chamber.
|
Didn't Kurt Angle do something like that?

======================== I'd also like to see Bryan vs Lesnar but Lesnar would have to go over. Could make it closer but yeah Lesnar needs to go over. Some other matches the could put on Raw that I would like to see would be vs Kane\Show\Big E\Ceasaro\Kofi\Orton\ADR |

Austin needs to be lured out of retirement by Punk or Sting has to finally face Undertaker..... It's the only big shot names left that would do anything.....
|
What is the allure with Sting v Undertaker?? I don't see it honestly, and feel like it would be a "meh" match at best.
|
And Austin seems to talk more and more (especially recently) that he has another good one left in him. Austin v Punk would be great for sure, especially the build and the promos on one another. That needs to happen.

I don't mind a HHH/Lesnar II match at all, I enjoyed the first one. I really want to see Taker Vs. Punk with the title on the line.
|
Am i the only one who wants to see Lesnar / Ryback, with Ryback going through the toughest brawl he's ever had, eventually picking up the win?
Even if you take out the Win/Loss, a bout with Lesnar further legitimizes Ryback as the ass-kicking machine that he's projected to be. Post Mania becomes easier as well. If Lesnar is staying with the company, then the feud goes on a bit longer, possibly ending with a gimmick match (perhaps an Ambulance / Last Man Standing). The greater angle would be to reveal the Shield as Heyman Guys, and tie in the loose ends with Punk, and add Lesnar to the fold eventually. |
Punk/Lesnar is already built in. Heyman betrays Punk at Elimination Chamber or something with a surprise Brock returning to beat down the Champ after he retains the belt. How easy is that to book?
|
I'm looking forward to Lesnar vs HHH. Their last match was great.
I'm guessing WM will be Punk vs Sheamus for the belt Rock vs Cena HHH vs Lesnar Ryback vs Big Show for the belt I don't see Taker returning. |

That takes away Punk/Rock though. Dunno.
|
Even the Rock can't make Punk draw ratings.
