Well it's not EA, but it's pretty close to being EA. Will 2ksports be handling it?
All I can think about is he much I hate the MLB 2k series. I may have played my last WWE game.
Then again NFL 2k5 ruled.
As long as we finally get a new engine. |
NBA 2k is pretty great. Hopefully it's more basketball than baseball.
I've never played a 2K Sports game, so I don't know what to expect.
Not being THQ is a start.
Now it all depends if they hire the former THQ guys or decide for a fresh start. We may or may not have a game this year.
It is a rumours
I really doubt there will be a WWE game this calendar year.

It's probably better if we don't. |
samesies!

Maybe the physics can finally improve.
That would imply THQ WWE games had physics.
I'm happy if it's a new game built from the ground up, every year I feel like a bit of shame for buying the same game again with small updates to it. THQ / Yukes can fuck off for holding back so much from Universe Mode each year just so they can add it to the next one, etc etc.
Pretty much what Tommy Gunn said, you can almost spot what they're taking out each year to hype for the following years release, plus the TNAesque 'biggest roster ever' but really it's just 3 or 4 versions of 5 guys. It gets brought up in the threads every year but they've needed to skip a year to overhaul everything for a while, a new company would have to do that anyways, plus we might finally get new commentary.
Does WWE have to approve all of this before they can even go forward? THQ owed them a bunch of money and were possibly in breech of contract which means THQ didn't have the right to sell the license?
Is it only the license or do they acquire the engine as well?
If they acquire the engine, this could suck. If they don't, they'll probably do a year hiatus to actually get the game finished from the ground up. |
THQ don't own Yukes so it would be up to the license holder to work with them if they want or not. Because the WWE part isn't confirmed, it's unsure if the buyer actually bought the US team that did work on the games too or not.
If they let Yukes do WWE 14 it will be a proper send off, or maybe they will kick ass next year and be allowed to remain on the series. It is also the only way we'd get a game soon. They usually work off previous assets which is the best way to do a yearly game anyway.
If 2K handles the next game it will not come out next year as they would start from scratch and need a two year dev cycle to build something I imagine would be yearly after that. Of course they could just start their reboot game and let Yukes do a final game anyway, giving them time to finish it while giving Yukes a last hurrah. |

Could imagine the modding possibilities on PC. Hell, Raw and Nitro were modded to hell and back and they weren't even good games. |
Too bad a lot of their previous assets suck by this point.
I'd even say "a lot" was being generous.
I would say "all," but I'm in a giving mood today.
The 1 degree (That's Celsius for the benefit of you backwards...Rest of the worlders) weather has frozen the "dick" part of my brain. |

Most likely Yukes will have some role in the next game due to their experience and supposedly the WWE really likes them. After that either Take Two uses one of their own studios or probably buys out Yukes as well. |
Whoever the hell takes it over needs to do MOAR FACIAL SCANNING!
Seriously, it seems worse in 13 than previous years. |
