Is Rikishi an IWC legend?

Highly regarded TPWW poster Keith brought this up in another thread, and I thought I'd ask for people's thoughts on things.

Well, at least a IWC legend.

"I did it for The Rock" still resonates in our hearts.

In your mind as a proud member of the IWC, is Rikishi a legend in your mind, or do you find yourself using that quote (if any of you actually do) as more of a piss take than a homage. Discuss.

itsmeJD 02-01-2013 11:38 PM

My vote is all the discussion I need......well, plus this.

itsmeJD 02-01-2013 11:38 PM

Also, fuck you Tazz Dan....ok, now I'm done.

Ruien 02-01-2013 11:40 PM

The statement is and that is what I believe the question was referring too.

Go tweet HBK about it.

KaosDarksol 02-02-2013 01:12 AM

Not a legend merely a meme for us IWC people.

Shisen Kopf 02-02-2013 01:18 AM

No. He's a fat ass who got over b/c he danced. Might as well call Brodus Clay a legend too.

Lock Jaw 02-02-2013 01:38 AM

No. What is a legend is The Rock mocking Rikishi saying "I did it for The Rock."

Lock Jaw 02-02-2013 01:39 AM

In fact it is the first result on youtube when you search for "I did it for The Rock"

Kane Knight 02-02-2013 02:06 AM

Best not to take Keith seriously.

HTrain90 02-02-2013 02:09 AM

No.

Well it's not like there are a ton of other things it could be.

Lock Jaw 02-02-2013 02:38 AM

Could be Rikishi saying it. Or this:

Razzamajazz 02-02-2013 03:19 AM

i barely remember the "i did it for the rock" thing. if not for teh intarwebz i don't think i would have ever been reminded of it

#1-norm-fan 02-02-2013 03:23 AM

Rikishi's ass dimples are legendary.

Fignuts 02-02-2013 03:40 AM

He is an IWC legend in the same way that Gangrel and Val Venis are IWC legends.

Fignuts 02-02-2013 03:41 AM

By that I mean not at all.

James Steele 02-02-2013 04:13 AM

:'(

I liked Gangrel and Val Venis.

Desmond would've been a much better outcome for the angle than Rikishi.

But nah, the "I did it for The Rock" thing is just a pisstake. I don't think anybody disliked Rikishi, but I also don't recall ever seeing anybody mention that he's a favourite of theirs. He's just kind of there.

Gangrel had the greatest entrance in the history of sports entertainment. When that music hit, I knew he was getting his ass kicked, but damn if he wasn't cool as fuck coming up thru the fire and be-boppin to the beat while walking to the ring.

JimmyMess 02-02-2013 06:45 AM

he's a meme

Shadrick 02-02-2013 07:02 AM

I did it for Tazz Dan.

In this case, exactly.

I mean, me saying Rikishi is a legend?

The phrase is legandary among those who witnessed it back then, though.

No, but the way he sold a clothesline was fucking legendary

Supreme Olajuwon 02-02-2013 02:30 PM

I loved Rikishi. He could've been a mega heel but they turned him into a bumbling idiot who still wore a thong even though he was supposed to be a scary bad guy.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-02-2013 02:31 PM

I think I say that every time Rikishi's name is brought up.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-02-2013 02:31 PM

It's true though.

It's too late to play the sarcasm card, you plenty of prior opportunity.

Keith 02-02-2013 06:42 PM

I did say an IWC legend, not a professional wrestling legend or future Hall of Famer.

So I stand by my statement.

Tazz Dan 02-02-2013 06:45 PM

Is my thread not about that?

The distinction between being an IWC legend and being a professional wrestling legend had to be reemphasized.

Kane Knight 02-02-2013 07:35 PM

He does have some of the hallmarks of an IWC legend.

Like nobody really caring about him.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-02-2013 07:38 PM

HE'S A BAD MAN!

Not an IWC Legend.

Rock Bottom 02-02-2013 10:10 PM

Good wrestler. I wouldn't put him in the top 1000

Bad News Gertner 02-02-2013 10:15 PM

Much better wrestler than HHH.
