Ever think we'll see the day when somebody in the main event gets injured before or during Wrestlemania?
 

Been watching some old Wrestlemania's and it kinda occured to me that outside of Andre's health being in question, the main event of Wrestlemania hasn't been changed due to injury or a serious injury hasn't occured during the match. Kind of amazing if you think about it. Like what would have happened in WM14 if HBK's back gave completely out during his match with Stone Cold or right before.

Hoping this isn't going to be the demon's curse.

We got close with Lesnar - Angle, but that's about it.

It crosses my mind everytime I watch a PPV, I always wonder if someone will get seriously hurt.

Yeah that Lesnar botch was scary.

I'm actually surprised that no one has hurt themselves during an Elimination Chamber match yet. Now granted the chamber matches don't have as many potential botches as say a ladder match, it's still pretty risky to put all your stars in there on the same show right before Wrestlemania.

Not just that but Angle's neck was fucked up to the point where I remember they were talking about how to replace him a few weeks before the match.

Could you imagine if the Rock or Cena hurt themselves badly during their match at Wrestlemania? Vince might drop dead.

It was pretty funny when Vince tore both his quads at the end of 2005. He just looked ridiculous

What if Rock get's injured leading into Wrestlemania, say at Elimination Chamber or just get's hurt outside wrestling before then? Or if Cena gets screwed up somehow during this Shield feud or proposed Elimination Chamber match? I wonder how they'd handle that. Makes you think. :-\

They'd have a wheelchair of doom match.

Only time I can think of is when it was rumored WM 23 was a Cena-HHH rematch for Main Event but HHH got hurt and HBK stepped in. Thankfully now way Mania gets set up there are like 4 or 5 semi-Main Events and could push one to the Main slot if the injury occurs just before the event.

While I dislike seeing wrestlers get hurt, I enjoy the chaos of when it happens and wrestlers alter a finish, like the PPV where Orton injured his shoulder or any of HHH or Nash quad tears. I enjoyed watching HBK go ballastic with a chair on Edge and Orton to cover for HHH on the ground.

I was actually surprised Cena was wrestling so much leading into that match. An injury to him after a year long build would have been an insane disaster.

If it ever happens, just have Triple H turn heel by firing the injured guy and taking his place in the match/feud.

Might be possible with Taker this year assuming all the dirtsheet reports on how badly hurt he is end up being true.

Even a "safe" match could still cause him to get a serious injury in the ring.

Taker wouldn't be THE drawing point like Cena-Rock was last year. It wouldn't matter.

My mistake, was thinking more about how the WWE has like 3 main events for Mania and not the actual final one for the Taker post.

RVD crushed Triple H's throat during the first one after a very dodgy five star off one of the chambers.
