I've got nothing against the Euro Song Contest - I just never watch it, and have no interest in it tis all...
Terry Wogan's alright, although I could see an excessive amount of listening to him could get annoying. Only time I ever saw/heard him was on The Terry & Gaby Show and I only watched that once a week at most. Walking On Sunshine is an annoying song. I remember Love Shine A Light - I thought it was alright at the time. :shifty: Happy bands can be annoying, but then there's The Polyphonic Spree - quite possibly the happiest band, and they're not annoying. |

Ahhh, Terry Wogan ruled Eurovision, he was the only good thing about it this year when the voting just got THAT monotonous. The Greece/Cyprus thing is always funny (particularly both of them trying to defend their decisions this year) since it doesn't really make a difference in the swing of things but when every vote goes something like "8 points to our neighbours such-and-such, 10 points go to our OTHER neighbours etc etc etc" then it's just stupid.
And am I the only person who thinks Katrina is strangely hot? |

Less than we deserved - about 15, give or take I think. Amazingly, most of our points came from Ireland, which shows what a lousy year it was for us.

Well we don't stand a chance these days - all the Eastern European countries vote for each other en masse, leaving the only hopes of any votes coming from Western Europe. Problem - Spain hates us (Gibraltar and the fishermen), Germany hates us (the war), France hates us (past wars, the whole Iraq thing), Iceland hates us (Cod war), Ireland hates us (too numerous to mention, though maybe they're waning on the evidence of this year) and it goes on. Even the Greeks hate us because of those stupid marbles. The only countries that do particularly care for us are the Scandinavian countries and Malta, whom I correctly predicted making up the bulk of our score.
Bit of a problem when each Eastern bloc country has about ten other countries bordering it. |
Didn't look like anyone outside the Baltic states were going to win a few years back.
