I'm calling it now.

RVD will be back in WWE the night after Wrestlemania. This may annoy some of you, and many others may not care. But I'm not ashamed to say I love the whole f'n show, and would happily see him back for one final run.

Tazz Dan 03-14-2013 02:27 AM

Oh, apparently his TNA contract is up or is running up rather soon, and he hasn't/isn't re-signed/re-signing.

whiteyford 03-14-2013 02:40 AM

Love motivated RVD, but the going through the motions version I'm kinda meh about.

Fignuts 03-14-2013 03:13 AM

Whiteyford nails it.

Yep. Beyond that there's the WWE at least IMO not letting him be RVD and go all out. He always used the exact move-set that came in the SVR games rather than cutting loose and doing something awesome that you may see only once because the match warrants it like in ECW,so yea I'll pass if we just get by the numbers RVD.

dronepool 03-14-2013 04:30 AM

I love RVD and would LOVE to see him go up against Punk.

PullMyFinger 03-14-2013 04:34 AM

I could see a match between CM Punk vs. RVD...straight edge vs. weed. Even better, why not a PPV headliner between the two in a Weed-On-A-Pole match?

el bobbo 03-14-2013 06:16 AM

Jack Swagger's going to need a feud after he loses at Wrestlemania.

Rammsteinmad 03-14-2013 09:15 AM

CM Punk vs Rob Van Dam would be a great feud, or at least, a great match, but I'm not really bothered about the whole straight edge vs. druggie thing anymore. They didn't do it with these two back in 2006, they did it was Jeff Hardy in 2009, and CM Punk has kinda evolved way past the whole straight-edge preacher thing now.

Triple Naitch 03-14-2013 09:18 AM

Nah, if anything I think he's going to commit to doing standup comedy full time.

Ultra Mantis 03-14-2013 09:37 AM

Doubt he will come back full time since he hates the travel and I can't see him getting a Lesnar type deal. Probably will just sit at home getting baked.

NormanSmiley 03-14-2013 02:41 PM

i was seeing something with RVD in it the other day and thought to myself, what if they could put RVD's skills on a guy with a proper hairstyle, proper ring gear and a personality

Ultra Mantis 03-14-2013 03:37 PM

By "proper" I can only assume you mean a full bodied mullet and boot tassels.

NormanSmiley 03-14-2013 03:37 PM

yes like the texas tornado kerry von erich

Ultra Mantis 03-14-2013 03:40 PM

Would be pretty great if Rob Van Dam was Kerry Von Erich actually.

NormanSmiley 03-14-2013 05:37 PM

the battle creek tornado rob van erich

the prince tune?

Mr. Nerfect 03-15-2013 07:13 PM

I've never been the biggest RVD fan, but the dude has not gotten like any worse since he was everyone's favourite in 2001. His work last year during the Bound For Glory Series was actually really good from a storytelling perspective. He'd add something different to the WWE, and I'm sure that Vince would not mind making some money off the merchandise the dude could sell to the kiddies.

I'd love to see what RVD could do working with Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk -- plenty of fresh matches for the guy. Plus, RVD is undefeated at WrestleMania (and Bound For Glory PPVs apparently). If they have nothing else for Antonio Cesaro to do at WrestleMania, I'd love it if he came out and said that he is the United States Champion and he should be defending his title at WrestleMania. He gives an open challenge to anyone in the back and RVD answers and manages to get Cesaro off guard and win the US Title at Mania, going 5-0 in the process.

If you put The Miz over whoever he faces at WrestleMania this year, you could then do RVD vs. The Miz in a mini-streak vs. mini-streak match next year.

whiteyford 03-15-2013 07:20 PM

Wouldn't mind if they let him do a Ravens Rules type gimmick where he gets to work all his matches with the original ECW rules.

Anybody Thrilla 03-16-2013 05:24 PM

The Miz and John Morrison lost to Carlito and Primo in the undercard of Wrestlemania 25. He doesn't have a streak.

Do the WWE count pre-show matches as WrestleMania matches?

They count what they want to count. If they want to push the Miz as having a streak, they'll do it. I'm pretty sure they pushed Edge as Undefeated even though he had been in a MITB at Wrestlemania that he didn't win.

Anybody Thrilla 03-17-2013 12:17 PM

The tag titles changed hands in that match. Can you really just brush it under the rug?

Yes, I know they can. But they shouldn't. Especially since it was pushed as being on the main show. I remember, because I was pretty pissed about not seeing one of the matches I was excited for.

Ultra Mantis 03-17-2013 12:47 PM

Of all the guys you could put RVD in a match with at Wrestlemania, The Miz should be somewhere near the bottom of the list, "streak" or not.

The Condor 03-17-2013 01:03 PM

RVD should not come back, I just don't think it would work out. It seems only Jerry Lynn can drag anything out of him (TNA about 2 years ago they had a program that was fantastic and ended it with a great PPV match) and he has hung 'em up now.

Anybody Thrilla 03-17-2013 01:17 PM

You could tell he wasn't all that interested in putting Kenny King over in their recent feud.

I was upset about it not being on the main show, too, but it wasn't on the main show. I assume that the WWE could count it if they wanted to, but they could also count it as something outside the main WrestleMania canon as well.

I'd love to see Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn in the WWE to be honest.

James Steele 03-17-2013 09:58 PM

Fuck RVD.
