IM problems

Right, both AIM and MSN are ****ing about. :@

When I try to sign into MSN, this comes up:

I've tried using their connection troubleshooter thing, but it says there is no problem.

When I try to sign it to AIM, it says my buddy list is not available, but is not lost, please try again later.

Then it will sign me in, but won't allow me to add anyone to my buddy list or start a convo with someone. :@

I've tried redownloading and reinstalling both, and neither worked.

Any ideas? :'(

I'm pretty sure my mother has the same problem when she tries to sign in on her computer but I can sign onto my account ok on the same computer.

diothoir 05-13-2004 10:32 AM

Nah, no-one can get into any of their accounts on this computer. :( Stupid MSN/AIM

Disturbed316 05-13-2004 10:35 AM

Working fine for me

diothoir 05-13-2004 10:59 AM

Yeah, MSN is running fine, but it won't connect me. :@

Just got AIM to work anyhow.

The Mask 05-13-2004 11:28 AM

diothoir 05-13-2004 11:30 AM

I donut believe so, sah.

How would I go aboot checking such hay thing?

The Destroyer 05-13-2004 11:56 AM

Windows XP has a built in firewall, doesn't it? Seems weird it would affect MSN Messenger though...

The Mask 05-13-2004 12:00 PM

yeah, that one doesn't, i dont think. i dunno how you'd check it. maybe your connection settings or summat

The Mackem 05-13-2004 12:07 PM

Burn it.

diothoir 05-13-2004 04:15 PM

Checked it. The XP firewall isn't the problem, and there isn't another firewall on this comp to my knowledge.

The problem must be something to do with your internet connection or ISP, when both AIM and MSN won't work, it's usuall BT messing me about I find.

diothoir 05-14-2004 10:55 PM

So, it's time to swear at BT down a phone line.
