Disney acquires rights to Labyrinth, no, not that one

Soooo, this isn't a remake since it's about a girl searching for her father instead of her brother...

Can't better perfection.

You remind me of the babe
(What babe?)
The babe with the power
(What power?)
The power of voodoo
(Who do?)
You do
(Do what?)
Remind me of the babe

whiteyford 04-09-2013 01:55 PM

Got that tune stuck in my head now.

parkmania 04-09-2013 02:31 PM

You're welcome.

this

ron the dial 04-09-2013 03:22 PM

completely feasible that this is not a remake considering that movie didn't create the concept of a labyrinth.

Raven Reaper 04-09-2013 11:25 PM

Oh fuck. David Bowie as the Goblin King is 10000000000000000000000 times IRREPLACEABLE.

Disturbed316 04-10-2013 04:18 AM

Fucking loved Labyrinth as a kid, just an amazing film.

ron the dial 04-11-2013 05:36 PM

it appears that nobody else in this thread recognizes that.

whiteyford 04-11-2013 05:38 PM

We just want an excuse to remember Bowies finest moment.

Wait... wasn't that the plot of Pan's Labrynth? I'm seriously asking, I don't remember.

Fun fact: this movie was part of my birthday moviethon. As was Dark Crystal and Return to Oz.

ron the dial 04-11-2013 06:49 PM

love return to oz. wish the newer oz would have taken more of that tone, but i knew better than that.

Totally forgot it was a Disney flick. That fact makes it a bit more WTF surreal than it already was.

Disney did a bunch of darker things about that time in the 80s. They had an animated feature film about a kid and his ape sidekick taking on the Welsh Devil.

Ayup. I grew up on the Lloyd Alexander books. They toned it down for the movies, but still. That is NOT shit I would expect from anything even remotely tied to Disney.

...If I hadn't seen it for myself.
