WWE.com has learned that WWE Champion John Cena sustained an injury during WWE's European tour. The WWE Champion injured his right Achilles tendon while battling Ryback.

The injury raises questions about the scheduled match between Cena and Ryback at Extreme Rules on May 19. What lies ahead for the Cenation leader? Does this put Ryback one step closer to capturing the WWE Title?

There are no details yet about Cena's expected recovery time.

For more, stay with WWE.com and tune in to Monday’s Raw at 8/7 CT on USA Network.

Jesus Christ. NOW does everyone agree that ending Punk's reign was a bad idea?

whiteyford 04-28-2013 10:05 AM

Because of a random injury that could of happened to anyone?

whiteyford 04-28-2013 10:05 AM

Like Edge for example...

Uh, yeah. Fucking future-seeing non-caring Punk-in-the-doghouse-putting assholes.

whiteyford 04-28-2013 10:14 AM

It's obviously Punks fault.

The Condor 04-28-2013 10:16 AM

The WWE would of gone bankrupt if Punk would of carried on killing the ratings with his boring ass smark pandering promos...

WWE.com with the scoop here. No way this can be a work. I'd better tune in tomorrow at 8/7c to find out.

VSG 04-28-2013 11:00 AM

They don't even mention any injury off-time, it is a WORK!

whiteyford 04-28-2013 11:10 AM

I feel you're trying to tell us something VSG...

screech 04-28-2013 11:21 AM

If only he could be less vague!

Innovator 04-28-2013 11:24 AM

With everything pumping through Cena's veins, that achilles should heal in a month or two.

John Cena gets Twin Magic handjobs, he'll be back and ready for RAW

People said the same thing in the Benoit thread.

Hopefully this leads to a KANE title reign

Corndad 04-28-2013 11:56 AM

Can Cena OVERCOME THE ODDS after this Injury???

I can see it now. Maybe being skeptical but sounds like a work to make it not obvious he's beating Ryback at Extreme Rules.

#BROKEN Hasney 04-28-2013 12:12 PM

To me, it's a work until he drops the belt.

Volare 04-28-2013 12:23 PM

I want god damn fan video proof right the fuck now or I riot.

Considering this was just going to end up with RYBACK losing yet another ppv match, maybe this is time to see what he can do.

It makes a whole lot of sense to have Ryback win it and set up Ryback vs. Jericho/Sheamus/Orton until Cena is healed up.

blak23 04-28-2013 01:09 PM

Getting a new star?

Volare 04-28-2013 01:43 PM

Ryback must really be Kryptonite...

Emperor Smeat 04-28-2013 01:43 PM

Is this on the same foot he sprained before in the past which lead to Ryback getting rushed into a main event ppv match?

DaveWadding 04-28-2013 01:56 PM

MAY 19TH

But he gave a few guys on the internet a chubby, which is clearly more important than the business!

He's actually gonna roll out in a rascal scooter and use it to RISE ABOVE INJURY, retaining with the first ever mechanical pinfall.

fixed

Wishbone 04-28-2013 06:40 PM

Well this sucks for Cena. If he is injured and it's not a work or just over exaggerating of the injury then WWE's pretty fucked right now. No Punk, no Cena, no Rock = Taker, HHH and Brock are gonna be playing double duty to try and keep people interested. THIS is why you build new stars WWE!

Bad News Gertner 04-28-2013 07:03 PM

There's nobody worth building outside of Ryback. That's what happens when yo keep signing vanilla midgets from ROH.

Sheamus, Big Show, Orton, Henry. All are on the cusp of being stars, none are "vanilla midgets", and all are capable of being in the limelight. If WWE would put some effort into them they'd be able to pick up the slack, but WWE doesn't have the patience or attention span to push more then one guy at a time.

Bad News Gertner 04-28-2013 07:10 PM

Lol you mention they need to build new stars and you throw Big Show? Orton is the only one who could carry a brand but he loves the needles. None of them even have the potential to be franchise players.

Curtis 04-28-2013 07:11 PM

Here is an artists depiction (me) of it

Henry or Show could be massive draws as heel champions, they've done it in the past but with the second rate title. Sheamus is already over huge and could easily ascend to being a backup main event guy for times like this. Orton's already there but he keeps fucking up. Still he could be used as a backup like Sheamus.

I included Show because, while yes he's been around a while and accomplished a lot he's still very capable of being a great draw for the company, but they just don't seem to utilize it the way they could.
