Shield 4th Member?
 

- With the recent speculation that The Shield might have a fourth member, one of NXT's top wrestlers made an interesting tweet that could be a hint that he's affiliated with the group. Several days ago, Shield member Seth Rollins tweeted:

"Tearing down that wall. Brick by brick by brick. We don't need no thought control. #BelieveInTheShield #raw"

NXT star Sami Zayn (formerly known as El Generico) responded:

"@WWERollins I believe in the Shield

Would not mind a 4th member, or even 5th, coming into the mix. As long as it is not someone currently on the roster. A main eventer makes them look like pawns and a mid-carder or jobber takes some of their status away. Only someone from NXT will be acceptable.

Can you imagine if WWE actually booked some guys with the potential to lead the company in the future as well as they're booking The Shield right now?

(Although I do think Ambrose can be pretty fucking good in a scary Pillman-esque heel role.)

What 4th member? That picture of the 3 guys with 1 shadow figure isn't a sign there's a new guy coming, it could mean all three guys cast 1 shadow to signify unity.

I don't know...the Shield works fine the way it is. What they shouldn't do is add an established star, if anything it needs to be another new guy. I get why they might want to try to add to something that's working, but they could easily fuck it up with the wrong choice.

This has been discussed a lot recently and it's a dead end. These guys have made UT and Kane look like world beaters the last few weeks on Smackdown, especially Reigns diving over the announce table. They may be raw on the mic sometimes but they bump like champs to make their opponents look that much better and have different forms of offense from the usual WWE breed. The only weakness is directionless booking at points. Otherwise I'm enjoying the hell out of them. A fourth member can only be a hindrance, I think

Im liking the shield / poor mans nwo angle, even with the occasional attacks at times that seemingly make NO sense

That said, the ONLY way i can see a potential 4th member joining them WITHOUT destroying everything is if they somehow get a leader / manager (i.e. paul heyman, zeb colter, etc)

I always thought the Shield was going to join forces with Punk, Heyman, and Maddox and create a super stable. And it looked like it was going to happen, but it seems Vince went crazy about people finding out about it on the Internet and they had to scrap it. The Shield is a great stable, but what is truly the end game for them?

For the immediate short-term, it seems like they are being pushed towards a tag title match with Team Hell No and a probably quite lengthy tag title run. I’m hoping such a match would happen @ Extreme Rules instead of being delayed forever, though, as Kane and Bryan have had a nice, nearly 8-month reign and really haven’t defended it at all (to my recollection) for a month since WM XXIX.

I really like the idea of all three guys being eligible for defending the tag titles if they win them, although Rollins and Reigns should be the tag title holders, Ambrose would look good holding the U.S title.

Carlito coming back and joining The Shield would be moderately entertaining and an excuse to reignite his feud with Cena.

Honestly, I see no point in adding another member. They already have all the spots covered you need in a stable. Dean is the leader, Reigns is the muscle and that other guy is.... the "other guy" in the stable

It will be Kaitlyn because The Shield is collectively her stalker. Just wait, eventually her admirer will send her a SWAT vest just like other members of The Shield wear! :)
