Cena v Orton

I might be drunk right now...

But Cena v Orton would be a match a lot of us are craving right now...

If it is face v face or face v heel, everyone would love that shit.

el bobbo is drunk and will comment on this later, but let's have this match at a PPV.

Swiss Ultimate 06-02-2013 02:13 AM

I never want to see that again.

Heisenberg 06-02-2013 02:16 AM

I'd settle for a Owen Hart v.s. Yokozuna casket match before watching Orton v.s. Cena man. I'm sober.

el bobbo 06-02-2013 02:21 AM

I might be biased because of that reaction Randy got when he punted Big Show in St. Louis, but Orton deserves a WWE Title reign right now.

He is the most over guy in the organization.

Heisenberg 06-02-2013 02:24 AM

I miss heel Orton, in the TPWW wrestling podcast they discussed Miz being a babyface and it's not making sense to anyone, it's not fitting right, and I think Orton is the same when he is a babyface. Can't get into it, plus he was in stables for a long time and played a stablemate better. I don't know, I'd rather discuss this drunk, but it is past my time to open one up.

el bobbo 06-02-2013 02:24 AM

More over than our hero Daniel Bryan

el bobbo 06-02-2013 02:26 AM

WWE Champ = Randy

World Heavyweight Champ = Daniel Bryan

Road Warrior 06-02-2013 02:46 AM

Strange situation for wwe, on one hand the guy draws, but on the other hand he's really unlikable as a person.

WWE will never trust him in a major position again since if he fucks up again - they have to fire him.

Juan 06-02-2013 04:08 AM

They did it with Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton is just as over as Hardy was

James Steele 06-02-2013 04:21 AM

Jeff Hardy ended up getting busted with a shitload of drugs shortly after he left WWE to "heal his injuries". Vince isn't going to put himself in that position again. Seriously, imagine if Hardy was still World Champion when his house got raided. Also, Hardy is a Ricky Steamboat-esque eternal babyface and will make far more money than a Randy Orton who is at his best as a heel. Personally, I'd bury the fuck out of him until he has absolutely no value left and ship him off to TNA to rot in hell when his contract expires. I'm sure Dixie Carter would be perfectly fine letting Orton do whatever the fuck he wants in TNA.

Juan 06-02-2013 04:33 AM

The guy is one of the most over guys in the company, they're not gonna bury him. He will be world champion again

James Steele 06-02-2013 04:34 AM

I dunno. He doesn't need the title. He'll fight for it I'm sure, but he won't win it again and he will never main event another WrestleMania barring him getting stupid red hot in a storyline.

mike adamle 06-02-2013 06:40 AM

He might be WHC again, never WWE champ again though. I wouldn't mind a one off Cena-Orton match for the WWE Title at a PPV though. Would be fresh in 2013. Wouldn't want to see it continue into anything else though.

Rammsteinmad 06-02-2013 09:33 AM

It'd only be fresh if it was face vs. face, and not superhero face vs. cowardly heel.

mike adamle 06-02-2013 09:36 AM

Well, since they're both face, right now, it would be fresh then...

The Condor 06-02-2013 09:52 AM

I don't care for either of them. One plus is that I could ignore their feud rather than being pissed that there are two feuds I dont care about. Otherwise, no this is an awful idea

mike adamle 06-02-2013 09:56 AM

Two of the biggest faces against each other isn't an awful idea at all, you just wouldn't prefer to see it.

mike adamle 06-02-2013 09:58 AM

I'm guessing this might be the SummerSlam card:

WWE Title Match- John Cena (C) vs. Randy Orton

WHC Match- Dolph Ziggler (C) vs. Daniel Bryan

Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk

WWE Tag Team Title Match- The Shield (C) vs. Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston

US Title Match- Dean Ambrose (C) vs. The Miz

Kane vs. The Great Khali

What an AWESOME show it will be

DAMN iNATOR 06-02-2013 11:42 AM

That match/feud potential has been milked for all it's worth and run into the ground. They even had a good "old-fashioned" 1 hour Iron Man match at some PPV in 2009.

Rammsteinmad 06-02-2013 12:07 PM

I wouldn't be interested in an entire feud, but a one-off match, especially with Orton's character today, could be interesting to see.

This may seem like an overreaction but I hope you fall down a hole and become the object of public ridicule for weeks upon weeks.

dronepool 06-02-2013 01:05 PM

Orton is more boring than Cena, so no.

Emperor Smeat 06-02-2013 01:44 PM

Maybe as a random single match but can't see it working out as a feud especially if its a face vs face feud. Orton as a heel might work for the short term but he'd need to be built as some sort of Super Heel to counter the usual booking Cena gets in feuds.

Problem was those two never really meshed well together and the last time the WWE tried to tease something between the two during a Rumble match, the crowd didn't care at all.

Anybody Thrilla 06-02-2013 05:37 PM

Didn't they fight each other for like six PPVs in a row a few years ago?

Shisen Kopf 06-02-2013 05:44 PM

Yeah. And occasionally they'd throw in a 3rd rassler to keep it "fresh"

Mr. Nerfect 06-02-2013 07:11 PM

I have actually forgotten about the entire Cena/Orton feud other than Orton kicked John Cena, Sr. in the head. I can't remember their Iron Man Match.

Randy Orton is white-hot as a babyface. The thing about turning him heel is that if, for instance, Orton RKO'd Sheamus and turned on him -- more people would be cheering Orton than Sheamus. We all beg for heel characters to retain the qualities that get them over when they turn, and Orton has done a lot of that, and it's made it quite difficult for him to turn heel. Sure, he could cut the promos, beat up women and all that -- but I think that at the end of the day, Orton's overness is going to counteract any evil deed.

I can see Orton & Sheamus continuing their loose alignment to challenge The Shield imminently. The name "Celtic Vipers" for them is pretty shit, given that Orton has no real connection to anything Celtic. How about calling them "The Apex Warriors" instead? I can't see the WWE having them dethrone Rollins & Reigns, but it could be a fun little match. Then I could see the Sheamus vs. Orton feud, with a really forced Orton heel turn. There will be duelling chants in their matches and such. That seems like a potential SummerSlam match to me.

I still want to see a babyface Orton take on the incoming Wyatt Family, though. Wyatt just hanging with Orton would get him over. Randy can win his first match against Bray via disqualification, when Rowan and Harper attack him. Orton & Sheamus can then put over The Wyatt Family when Bray helps his followers win. A Steel Cage Match between Orton and Wyatt goes to Orton since The Family can't get involved.

dronepool 06-02-2013 09:06 PM

Orton should job to Wyatt if they want really want to push him.

The Snake 06-02-2013 10:18 PM

I bet all the guys from the 80's and 90's are thankful to not have had to do the whole Wellness Violation thing. Can you imagine how early Shawn Michaels career would have been over if he'd had to piss test all the time? Or any of the attitude era guys for that matter.

Anybody Thrilla 06-03-2013 10:50 AM

How can you forget the Iron Man match? Orton tried to explode Cena with pyrotechnics in it. You don't see that every day.

Mr. Nerfect 06-03-2013 05:58 PM

I pretty much hibernated through their program.
