Solid track. Thinking about hitting the Toronto or Auburn Hills shows, but I dunno if it can top the last time I saw them.
|
Gonna see them in KC with some friends. Gonna be fucking sweeeeeeet. Really dig the new track.
|
I really like that new song. Never managed to see them live sadly, but maybe some day.
|
I was considering going to Leeds festival to check them out but then I remembered that I hate people.
|
Also yeah, that new songs pretty sweet. Listened a bunch over the last few days.
|
Never been a huge NIN fan, though I loved The Fragile.
|
Excited. I'll be interested in the type of tour he's running (Lights in the Sky with crazy visuals, or Wave Goodbye with crazy setlists and basic lighting).
|
Given that floor tickets are around $120 (for the shows in my area, at least), he better be doing a light show.
|
The website mentions that they are picking up where LITS and the HTDA tour left off.
And yeah, I spent the money for floor tickets through NIN's website. I did it just on the guarantee that those tickets get in the venue 15 minutes early. |
Picked up my pre-sale floor tickets todayyyy. I'm PUMPED.
And yeah, the 15 minutes early thing is awesome. Where are you seeing them? I'm going to the KC show. |

He works with all kinds of different people, and every single album has sounded different from the last.
|
Year Zero sounds like nothing he has done. With Teeth is different than everything he has done. The Slip was different from everything he has done. Pretty Hate Machine sounds like nothing he has done. The Fragile was fucking unique and incredible. A 2 disc soundscape of eargasm. Broken and The Downward Spiral were the only two to have a somewhat similar sound, but they're still easily discernible. Fucking Ghosts sounds like nothing he has done.
You're a poor listener. Every album he has released has its own unique sound. NIN is the definition of music that's evolved over time. Yeah, he's kept his trademark NIN sound. FUCKING GOOD. I hate when bands lose their identity. But NIN has evolved in every single way. Edit: You said 'the last 10 years' which encompasses Year Zero, Ghosts, and The Slip. No idea what you're talking about still. Year Zero was anything but safe. It was a concept album detailing the political climate and wars of the future FFS. Ghosts was a concept album. The Slip was the only thing with a slightly traditional rock sound, and that was the result of Trent saying "Here's what I can do on short notice and for free". Still has a badass sound. |
Can't wait for this
|
Hooray, turns out I'm actually I'm actually in the States at the time of the tour in October so I will probably manage to finally see them live.
|
Cool, coming to Colorado...although for whatever reason they're playing at the 1st Bank Center.:nono:
Horrible venue. When you come to Denver you have to play at Red Rocks - that's a rule. |
Seeing them my 4th time at Barclays Center.
3 miles away from my house  |
I saw them play at Lollapalooza last night (via stream). Holy Fuck! What a show. Too bad it costs 120 bucks for GA tix here in STL. I bet cheap seats would still be good, but I want to be up close for that shit.
|
Yeah the general admission tickets seem to be pretty expensive across the board. So I'll be seeing them from the cheap-ish seats.
Another new single's appeared, Copy of A. Believe they played this at Lollapalooza too. Seems a bit "different" again, but I like it. SPOILER: show |
Yeah, 120 is pretty crazy but being my 2nd favorite band and the show they put on hinders that price. Wish I could go to like 2 or 3 of these dates instead of only 1.
CBH sounds better live and I'm loving "Copy of A" |

I haven't really listened to anything of NIN since The Fragile, but I'm liking the tracks that I'm hearing in this thread. "Everything" kinda messes with me though; it almost sounds up-beat to me. lol
I think i might have to buy this new record. |
Album leaked, it's on TPB.
About halfway through it, I was a big NIN fan until around the mid-2000s, now I just check out the albums since then out of curiosity. I don't personally like the new material much, but respect to TR for making a rather fresh sounding album. |
Album leaked? Shit, I'm going to try to hold off a week since it's out next week.
|
Like halfway through a listen right now, really liking it. I like the flow from one song to the next. Couple of these songs are really damn good. Bout to go take a drive and run some errands and listen to it on the car stereo for a bit.
|
Okay the 2nd half of the album is pretty solid, I've warmed to this album, definitely my favourite NIN album since The Fragile. Never liked Year Zero much, and found With Teeth and The Slip too monotonous, wheras the new album is full of different shades and styles, bravo!
|
That's good to hear I'm looking forward to buying and and listening to it for like 5 times in a row
|
Since nin.com is linking a free stream of the new album via iTunes; I have been seduced. Hesitation Marks should be coming in the mail on Tuesday. I'll listen to it for an insane amount of times in a row either way.
Every new NIN or Marilyn Manson album = my "Wrestlemania" these are events to me :) |
I am going to get the album in high resolution directly via nin.com
|
It's very good. I love it when bands use guitars and instruments in unconventional ways to create atmosphere. The blend with heavy bass beats, beautiful synth/piano melodies, psychedelic sonic assaults... can't wait to hold the album in my hands and hear it straight from my CD player until my ears get numb and the batteries of my CD player die.
9/10 |
Yeah, this f*cking album is amazing. The Fragile caliber good, in a totally different way.
This is the most raw Trent Reznor ever, really pouring his soul into it. I hope they play a lot of these live instead of just the couple they've been opening with at the festivals. |
I imagine they will, not really much sense in playing lots of new stuff from an album that isn't out yet at festivals.
I'm liking the album so far. The second half needs a few more listens to sink in fully, but good stuff. |
If you buy it from nin.com, you will be offered the album in a number of formats. One of them being the audiophile mastered version that does away with "loudness".
|
Am I the only one getting a "Prince" vibe on some of the tracks, particularly Satellite. Sometimes I expect one of the Purple One's screeches to come shrieking out of my speakers.
I'm liking the new album. It is far more upbeat than their other records that I have, which is kind of a revelation. |
It does sound Prince like. That beat is cool as fuck.
|
Finally had the chance to give it a proper listen through and the second half has all clicked into place. Love it.
|
Very upbeat, almost happy throughout. Makes for great driving music.
|
I am yet to get past the first five songs. "A Copy Of A Copy" is my personal favourite.
