Final Fantasy VII
 

Anyone really miss RPG games like this? They really don't make Final Fantasy games like they used to! Anyone think a remake/sequel would be a good idea? And I mean a "true" sequel where you play Cloud and it's an RPG, not a DOC shoot em up! But then again, would FF7 work on a PS4? I think for one the music is too video game to suit a more cinematic look, but FF7's music and style was one of the reasons it was so great! Hmm...thoughts?

I love FF7, it's not my favourite FF game but it's probably top three. That said, no. Even if they rebuilt it from the ground up it wouldn't live up to the hype and would be more in line with the recent Final Fantasy games that everyone "hates" oh so much. Leave the memories alone.

Remaking FF7 would be a waste of resources.

I like FF7 a lot. Still have the original PS1 game complete. I would love a remake/sequel but wouldn't lose any sleep if they didn't. With the HD remake of X coming out sometime soon perhaps an HD remastered version bundled would be the ideal thing to do.

FF6 is overrated in FF7 is overrated discussions.

As much as I'd like an HD remake, current Square would find a way to fuck it up.

I like old graphics better than new graphics, so leave it as it is.

My fav Final Fantasy *in the looks/graphics department only* is FFIX.

Has anyone played Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus? I think they were clearly thinking of continuing the story with 'Genesis' as the new big bad. In terms of FF7 chronology, the last thing we ever see of that world (besides Red XIII) is Genesis being resurrected and having 'work to do' with the world.

Do you think they intended on making sequels but the lukewarm reaction to DOC and a lot of the compilation of FF7 changed their minds? Or they're just taking their time?

That said, ranking FF series (the games I've played).

1. FF7
2. FFX
3. FF8
4: FF9
5: FFX-2
6: FFXII

6 and 7 are pretty even really, a lot of the stuff people chastise 7 for is also present in 6. It all boils down to the graphical preference and how much access you have to character specific attacks.

Dirge of Cerberus is fucking awful though.

FF8 for me

9 or GTFO.
