Lol Johnny Football is such a dick.

loopydate 09-01-2013 04:33 PM

Teddy Bridgewater is ridiculous.

Evil Vito 09-01-2013 04:57 PM

Yeah, as long as he stays healthy he'll definitely be the top QB taken in April, probably no later than #2 overall depending on Clowney. Should probably start looking for property in Oakland and/or Jacksonville.

loopydate 09-01-2013 06:47 PM

23/28, 355 yds, 5 TD, and a pick. So good

At least eight former Oklahoma State football players say they received cash payments from people associated with the Cowboys program starting in the Les Miles era and identified another 29 players as having also taken money, Sports Illustrated revealed Tuesday in the first of a five-part investigative series on the football program.

Some players received $2,000 annually and others around $10,000, multiple players told SI, with a few stars allegedly receiving $25,000 or more.
Quote:

Subsequent installments of the investigative piece allege that there also was widespread academic misconduct involving the football program, that the program tolerated recreational drug use and that members of a hostess program had sex with recruits.

The first part of the series concentrated on financial irregularities in the football program. SI reported that payments to players, which stretched from 2001 to at least '11 under head coaches Miles and Gundy, were primarily delivered three ways: a de facto bonus system based on performances on the field; direct payments to players from boosters and coaches independent of performance; and no-show and sham jobs -- including work related to the renovation of Boone Pickens Stadium -- that involved at least one assistant coach and several boosters.

Miles, now the coach at LSU, was instrumental in creating a "hospitable" environment for boosters, according to Sports Illustrated.

Several players claimed that former Oklahoma State special teams and secondary coach Joe DeForest played an integral role in the bonus payment system and would determine how much players would get.

Alabama and at least two other SEC schools likely to be getting investigated by the NCAA soon due to a recent report by Yahoo. Bama could end up loosing the 2012 BCS title depending on how strict the NCAA is with potential punishments.

Quote:

Five Southeastern Conference football players, including former Alabama All-American tackle D.J. Fluker, allegedly received impermissible benefits prior to completing their collegiate careers.

According to a Yahoo! Sports report, former Alabama defensive end Luther Davis acted as an intermediary between the players and multiple NFL agents and financial advisers. The report says Davis funneled money and benefits totaling $45,500 to Fluker, Tennessee starting defensive end Maurice Couch, former Volunteers quarterback Tyler Bray, and former Mississippi State players Fletcher Cox and Chad Bumphis.

The allegations would violate NCAA bylaw 12.3.1.2, which prohibits athletes from receiving extra benefits from prospective agents or marketing representatives. The violation could impact Fluker's eligibility and potentially the Alabama wins he participated in, including the 2012 Discover BCS National Championship.

Lane Kiffin fired. Fuck him.

When picking games with point spreads: Always take Air Force

The Condor 09-29-2013 10:22 AM

Wyoming Cowboys are pretty good.

Frank Drebin 09-29-2013 10:32 AM

Hope Ohio State is happy and forgot about Northwestern next week. Third largest crowd ever at the Horseshoe. Kinda surprised about that.

Speaking of point spreads, always take NU. Guessing when the line opens they will be 20 point dogs.

The Condor 09-29-2013 10:34 AM

They were favorites this week and I blew it.

You just know he'll get an HC job for some desperate school or a once great program trying to get back on track. Nebraska, Tulane, Kentucky, Maryland, Penn State after Bill O'Brien goes pro...

Frank Drebin 09-29-2013 12:17 PM

Texas sounds desperate too. Would have to be a program that won't care if he's a dirtball as long as they win.

Frank Drebin 09-30-2013 12:31 AM

Point spread opened with NU as 5 or 5.5 point dogs. Thinking that line gets a lil larger as people start betting on Ohio State. I think ill still put money on NU. Huge game for their program. National TV game at night. Should be fun.

ClockShot 09-30-2013 11:14 AM

UConn fired Paul Pasqualoni this morning.

I saw this coming, but not until the end of the season.

Please don't call Lane Kiffin.

James Steele 10-01-2013 12:39 AM

Either Lane Kiffin is the greatest interview ever or he digs up dirt on the AD/President before he interviews for a job.

I hope Northwestern does something good.

Frank Drebin 10-04-2013 09:39 PM

College Gameday going to be in Evanston. Northwestern U is about to become upset city.

ClockShot 10-05-2013 02:57 PM

Thanks Florida State for annihilating Randy Edsall and Maryland for us Connecticut folk.

GO CATS!!!

owenbrown 10-05-2013 11:18 PM

Northwestern might wanna start playing defense a little better if they wanna beat Ohio State

Frank Drebin 10-06-2013 12:32 AM

sigh......

James Steele 10-06-2013 03:08 AM

The fact that Northwestern was in a primetime game against Ohio State and literally fought until the last second is something to be proud of. Fitzgerald has turned Northwestern into something potentially very special. They could be the Big 10's answer to Stanford in a couple of years if they can keep Fitzgerald. I don't care what Musburger says, if Texas or USC or some other big name program comes calling and has a huge bag of money, he might leave.

Frank Drebin 10-07-2013 02:23 PM

Only program I would worry about if they came calling would be Notre Dame. Being from the Chicago area, he wanted to play for them badly but they never gave him a scholarship offer which is how he wound up at NU in the first place. NU is building a giant multimillion dollar training complex on the lakefront here which they basically did for him and the football team (and the donations that come with a successful program obvs). He signed a big contract extension a couple of years ago in which they were criticized for overpaying, but its looking like the smart move now. In short, he aint Gary Barnett who had his foot halfway out the door anytime another school came calling. NU is very lucky to have an ultimate homer as its head coach in this case.

Frank Drebin 10-07-2013 02:25 PM

....oh and beat Wisconsin please. I want a rematch.

The Condor 10-08-2013 12:28 AM

NU is getting there. Rome wasn't built in a day.
