I've just read that Goldust will be facing Randy Orton on RAW to fight for Cody's job, so this kind of gets in the way of that, but here is what I would have done:
* Edge hosts The Cutting Edge and has Big Show as a guest.
* Edge tells Show he thought he was good at three things in life -- being big, Chokeslamming people and knocking people out -- but it turns out he's also good at acting.
* Edge informs Show that he thinks he's lying about caring about Daniel Bryan. Edge shows us a montage he had put together of Bryan and Show's feud over the World Heavyweight Title.
* Big Show is "The Iron-Clad Giant" and yet is afraid of being fired? How do Triple H and Stephanie McMahon get the one guy who can do anything he wants to bend so easily? "Money troubles? I mean, Knucklehead was terrible, but you can't be that strapped for cash..."
* Show tells Edge that he better watch his mouth, because he could knock Edge's head into the sixth row as a souvenir for one of his fans to take home.
* Edge says it's good Show is getting angry, because that's the Big Show he wants to see. That's the Big Show the WWE Universe wants to see. It'd be better than this blubbering mess who is afraid that he'll end up on the wrong side of Triple H.
* "King of Kings" plays and Triple H makes his way out. He says it's great to see Edge, since Edge did so much good for business back in the day. But he's a little miffed as to why Edge would take this opportunity Triple H handed him and spit it back in his face.
* Edge tells Triple H that he doesn't work here any more, so he's not afraid to say this straight to Triple H's face -- the way you are treating Daniel Bryan is absolute crap. He's the hottest act you have going and proved against John Cena that he deserves to be WWE Champion.
* Edge then asks Triple H when he stopped caring about the WWE Championship? When did the title stop meaning being the best Superstar in this industry? When did it become a mere fashion accessory to Triple H? Edge says that he suspects Triple H will screw Bryan out of the WWE Title come Night of Champions.
* Triple H says that he won't do what Vince did to Bret Hart and screw Daniel Bryan -- Edge is right, the WWE Championship means too much to do that. Randy Orton will beat Daniel Bryan because Randy Orton is an A-player, while Daniel Bryan is just a solid B+. And to make sure no shenanigans happen in that match, Big Show will be the special enforcer.
* Edge doesn't look like he's buying this for a second, as Big Show looks conflicted and frustrated as always. Triple H then pipes in again and says that Edge is right, Triple H can't do anything to him without risking a major lawsuit, but Edge still has friends in the locker-room, doesn't he? One of those friends came back recently looking for "One More Match," and then he got the match at SummerSlam and tapped out. It seems to Triple H that for a guy who made a name for himself due to his heart and innovation in some of the most violent and dangerous matches the WWE has ever seen, maybe Christian just doesn't have it any more? Triple H gives Christian one more match tonight -- against the WWE Champion Randy Orton -- and if Christian loses, it may be time for him to move on with his life.
* Later in the show, Christian is preparing for his match when Edge walks in. Edge hopelessly apologizes for getting Christian into this situation. Captain Charisma tells Edge to relax. They've been best friends for how many years now? If Edge didn't speak out against Triple H tonight, then he wouldn't be the Edge Christian loves. He wouldn't have this any other way. Christian says he's been doing this for so many years now, and he's quite good at it. So tonight he's going to go out there and beat the WWE Champion in front of all the peeps. And hey, at least The Shield can't get involved, because that would trigger a disqualification. Then he's going to come back here and celebrate with kazoos and streamers, because streamers rule. He just needs to hear one thing from his best friend right now, and he wants the honest answer -- do you think I can beat Randy Orton? Edge tells Christian he knows he can beat Orton tonight. Christian tells Edge "You know it" and walks off as Edge looks deep in thought.
* Randy Orton and Christian have their usual match, the concussion is brought up, and things get quite tense as Orton works over the head. Eventually the referee is knocked down and The Shield's theme hits. Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins hit the ring, but suddenly someone jumps through the crowd with a weapon. Cody Rhodes lays out all three Shield members, and then nails Orton, as well. Christian capitalizes with a Spear as the referee is coming to -- 1-2-3!
* Christian celebrates his victory, as Rhodes evades security through the crowd. "King of Kings" hits again, and Triple H makes his way out. "Good job, Christian. You technically beat the WWE Champion. But are you really proud of that victory? Let's be honest -- it was a little tainted. Such bad sportsmanship should not be rewarded in the WWE. I'm sorry, Christian, but you're fired."
* Christian stands dejected in the ring. Orton uses this opportunity to sneak back into the ring and drill Christian with an RKO. Orton stands tall as WWE Champion, while Christian lays motionless in the middle of the ring.
