For the most part, I've been impressed with the WWE since 2011. Slowly but surely, they seem to be progressing in the right direction.

The only thing I'd really change right now is this:

Opening segment and finishing segment of each show should almost always start and finish with your hottest storyline/angle.

Why? Because - this is when the crowd is going to be at its hottest and/or most interested. This is one thing that the WWE did exceptionally well during the Attitude era. They maximized the ebb and flow of the crowd extremely well. This past RAW for instance, I would have started with the Daniel Bryan/Shawn Michaels segment. Period. On the night after summerslam, I would have had HHH/Orton, etc. come out right away to explain their actions.

I think implementing this little thing will..........well...........be best for business.

Part of the issue with that is if you know when the top feud will feature you might have people that just tune into those segments. They might be more inclined to watch the whole show if they're not sure when the hottest acts will appear.

From a storytelling perspective, it makes perfect sense. XL's point needs more evidence before I support it because WCW booked Nitro and Thunder to have big angles happen at odd points in the show, but they still lost the ratings war despite having classics such as Sting vs. Vampiro and Sting vs. Ric Flair in the opening hour in the year 2000.

The easy solution to XL's problem is to just focus on actually building up an awesome mid-card. At one point you could main event with an IC title match and it would be completely acceptable. If the midcard is hot, no one's gonna tune out.

I'm sold.

Nah, you can have more than one hot angle. Whatever works

What Heyman is saying makes sense. I guess they just think that people will wait to see when the angle is on, but maybe they should start with a hook and try and get people going. Bryan/HBK would have been a great way to kick-off RAW this week. Then you could have done the Cena segment after the first match.
