Fantastic Four (2015)

In case the summer of 2015 wasn't crowded enough with superhero films...

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...-reboot-655306

Lock Jaw 11-12-2013 07:47 PM

I swear, 2015 is going to be the end of the blockbuster movie because there are so many coming out, some are going to not do well just because people are weary of it. Also too expensive to see every one.

mitchables 11-12-2013 09:03 PM

huh. there's gonna be an assassin's creed movie. i was not aware of that.

dunno, already don't really care about the FF reboot. if it's good, awesome, but honestly i never really loved the fantastic four anyway. like i get their appeal and understand their importance but... ehh.

Vastardikai 11-12-2013 10:05 PM

I want to see a well done Dr. Doom. As in, he's clearly evil, but show how he is actually a good ruler and cares about his people.

But seriously, FUCK Reed Richards. I think the only "heroic" character that is more unlikeable than he is would be Cyclops.

if only this happened to reed

slik 11-13-2013 12:48 AM

I heard they might go a more 'comedic tone' (think Rebel Wilson as the invisible woman and Jonah Hill as the thing)

It's not the Fat-tastic four Slik.

Blonde Moment 11-13-2013 06:45 AM

They are going to have their work cut out for them to get this right

Krimzon7 11-13-2013 07:19 AM

I wonder how did people feel about Iron Man when it was announced? Just don't remember.

The Destroyer 11-13-2013 11:28 AM

All I remember is that some people were really down on RDJ as Stark. The fools.

Artie Lange for Mr. Fantastic.

Ant Man?

I hate Hank Pym.

I would like to see Doom as a charismatic despot though. Bonus points if the actor playing Doom can make Doom look badass while Doom refers to Doomself as Doom in the third Doomson.

I'm surprised there's no further news on the cast. The Michael B Jordan rumour is almost a year old now, with nothing to really confirm or supersede it. Granted, moving the date may be related to that....

It's also a shame Fox still has the FF rights because I'd love to see a persistent Doom show up in an Avengers or Avengers tie-in movie.

Thank God your sources are 95% inaccurate.

It's really weird because Downey pretty much was the Tony Stark character minus the ability to build incredible devices from scraps in a terrorist hideout.

Ehh. Arguable. I mean placing Cyke above Reed on the unlikability scale. They're both still asshats, though.

As for Doom, the Twisted Toyfare Theatre version of him would be awesome. Especially if they are ging for laughs. "I shall launch the Baxter Building into space! (again) Yes, this pleases Doom! Suck it, Richards!"

slik 02-20-2014 01:53 AM

F4 cast announced...

Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm
Kate Mara as Sue Storm
Miles Teller as Reed Richards
Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm

Fignuts 02-20-2014 02:03 AM

The previous movies weren't very good, but Bell and Jordan still have some big shoes to fill.

Evans and Chiklis did an amazing job, and made the movie fun for me despite all it's other flaws.

Blitz 02-20-2014 02:16 AM

Not one of those actors screams their role to me (But Jordan did something of a super turned down Johnny in Chronicle kind of), but there's a lot of talent there. I'm curious.

Innovator 02-20-2014 08:34 AM

You had me at Kara Mara

Sixx 02-20-2014 08:44 AM

So how are Sue and Johnny siblings here?

Well I think the assumption is that it was an interracial marriage, at least that is the response some are getting for the casting choice. Personally I don't like the choices,

If people want diverse heroes then the companies need to make new heroes that youth can identify with rather then change the current ones. I read some forums and see people wanting so and so be gay and so and so changed to Black or Hispanic or whatever and I want to go "You stupid Mother fuckers why don't you support the minority heroes they did give titles to or added to groups, hell DC comics added an all Black line that pretty much disappeared due to lack of interest.

Kalyx triaD 02-20-2014 03:16 PM

I don't think this is for diversity; the director's just down with Jordan.

Johnny and Sue's father is black, meaning at least sibling in laws or Sue being adopted.

In an interview with MTV.com, upcoming Human Torch – Michael B. Jordan is talking about the new Fantastic Four movie.

"Josh’s vision is very clear and he knows exactly what he wants, and he gives us room to adapt and to play. That’s what I kind of think sets us apart, is that this is going to be grounded and unconventional.

It’s not your typical superhero film, you know, we aren’t looking at this as like, being superheroes. We’re more or less a bunch of kids that had an accident and we have disabilities now that we have to cope with, and try to find a life afterwards – try to be as normal as we can."

Just like X-Men...

Kalyx triaD 07-19-2014 02:07 AM

I wouldn't say that's like X-Men.

slik 07-21-2014 03:23 AM

I wouldn't say that's like the Fantastic Four either.

Kalyx triaD 07-21-2014 02:30 PM

I'm not a huge fan or anything so however they wanna remix it is fine by me. Sadly, this does mean another version of Doom that will not be like what he is in the comics.

Trailer doesn't really reveal too much, but it certainly doesn't look as god-awful as a lot of people have said it'll be.

JimmyMess 01-27-2015 11:01 AM

kewl trailer. don't care much for the FF, but it was kewl.

Lock Jaw 01-27-2015 01:27 PM

Hmmmm... the "tone" of this thing so far.... I dunno... it seems like it could have been a "decent movie" if it were just about four people, and not a Fantastic Four movie.

Maybe a Challengers of the Unknown movie.

Kalyx triaD 01-27-2015 04:06 PM

Exactly, seemed like some other interesting thing.

KIRA 01-28-2015 04:54 AM

A lot of people don't really seem interested in this film or are convinced it's gonna suck.

Kalyx triaD 01-28-2015 07:22 AM

I'm certainly not saying the trailer put FF on people's radar all over, just that by avoiding nearly every cliche of superhero movie trailers it is at the very least interesting in a way. Lock Jaw pointed this in the direction of oldschool sci-fi pulp comics. The official summary also reveals that they do get their abilities by traveling across dimensions rather than space. This is crazy sci-fi shit.

There may be some strategy to being a decent sci-fi movie rather than a bad superhero movie, but we don't know that they can pull at least that off. What's important is there's no way Doom is going to be done service for the third movie in a row.

Kris P Lettus 01-28-2015 10:47 AM

They are doing reshoots ATM in Baton Rouge.

Rammsteinmad 01-28-2015 11:49 AM

The trailer doesn't seem that amazing to me, but I'm not totally disgusted at the idea of this film existing like so many others are.

I like the other two FF movies, and will give this one a chance. I'm interested that they've made changes to this movie, so that at least it's not completely like the comics or the past two films.

Simple Fan 01-28-2015 03:29 PM

This is not the Fantastic Four.

Rammsteinmad 01-28-2015 04:16 PM

Why? Coz Ben Grimm is black?

XL 01-28-2015 05:39 PM

The black guy is Johnny Storm.

Rammsteinmad 01-28-2015 06:30 PM

Whoops, yeah just re-watched it. My mistake.

So, to correct myself...

Why? Coz Johnny Storm is black?
