Former Football athlete signs contract w/ WWE

Stuart Tomlinson, an English former football (soccer) goalkeeper, is the latest former professional athlete to join WWE. The 28-year-old, who recently appeared on the cover of Men's Health Magazine after working as a male model, has signed a developmental contract with WWE.

The Chester, England-born former footballer, who retired following a knee injury last summer, met with WWE representatives during the company's European tour last month.

Certainly has "the look", but he's "short" for a wrestler.

"Football athlete"

"who recently appeared on the cover of Men's Health Magazine after working as a male model"

who needs talent when you can do this?

He retires from football due to a knee injury, so it make perfect sense to then become a professional wrestler and join the company with the most demanding schedule and highest expectations.

That knee of his is going to be just fine and give him a long and prosperous wrestling career.

Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Mongo, and others all joined wrestling due to their sports careers being cut short by knee injuries.

didn't Nash play basketball?

Razzamajazz 12-08-2013 05:11 PM

#1-norm-fan 12-08-2013 08:08 PM

Yeah. He was a basketball athlete.

Bad News Gertner 12-08-2013 08:17 PM

Nash played overseas I believe

I went into this thinking Monty Brown is back.

Instead it's football as in soccer. Ah well.
