2013 TPWW Game of the Year Nominees thread
 

Just like the past couple of years with the Gammys, the Game of the Year category is going to be poll-based while every other category is a write-in for votes.

This year will only have 4 games in the poll and GTA V is already guaranteed a spot.

Nominate up to 3 other games with the top 3 in nominations get placed into the poll for next week's Gammys thread. Nominations are open till December 15.

I was gonna vote for Dishonored.

Not that I disagree with the nomination because it is indeed a great game, but why is GTA V given a free pass, out of curiosity? I don't know how this shit works.

Anyway, I haven't done a lot of gaming this year, but I would be remiss if I didn't at least give The Last of Us some lovin' here

Who cares. You did this poorly last year. I doubt it will be better this year.

I 2nd the vote for Ninja Turtles.

Followed the same thing with 2011 by trying to gauge what game is very likely to win and then use the remaining nomination spots to get stronger candidates. Didn't do it last year since I figured the voting was going to be a lot more closer and evenly spread.

Almost considered including the Last of Us as a locked spot but then that would leave just 2 nomination spots left.

I think we should have a Best Narrative category.

Nah. Keep it simple. Things are subjective as it is, and narratives shouldn't be prioritized imo anyway. Then we'd have to have Best Gameplay which just wouldn't work.

Let me know when this piss gets sorted out. I only remember The Last of Us sticking out as I have been backtracking my catalog.

Might have to give this a miss as I won't know until I finish ACIV. Didn't think I'd use Assasin's Creed as a GOTY contender, but fuck me, sailing the seas is awesome.

As video games forum moderator I'm going to go ahead and reserve the 2nd slot for GOTY to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows due to the overwhelming amount of nominations.

Saints Row the Fourth and WWE 2k14. Can't think of any other new game I played this year unless you count Rise of the Hutt Cartel SWTOR expansion. Going to nominate Ducktales Remastered even though I haven't played it yet.
