IYO: Wrestlers on the current roster who might never become the champion (ever / again)
In your opinion: Who are the wrestlers on the current roster who will never become the champion?
The current roster has many talented superstars with great potential who might never get a chance to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion / WWE Champion / World Heavyweight Champion (again). Here are a few of my picks. 3-time Intercontinental Champion & NXT Season 1 Winner - Bad News Barrett http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/supersta...l_20130906.png Was a part of the main event of Wrestlemania 26 - Alex Riley http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/supersta...ley_1_full.png Brodus Clay http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/supersta...l_20120905.png Former Intercontinental Champion and World Tag Team Champion - Curtis Axel http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/supersta...l_20130530.png Former Intercontinental Champion and WWE Tag Team Champion - "The Chosen One" Drew McIntyre http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/supersta...l_20121120.png NXT Season 4 Winner - Fandango http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/supersta...l_20130429.png Multiple time Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion and Tag Team Champion - Kofi Kingston http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/supersta...l_20130815.png I wanted to give my thoughts on all of the listed wrestlers but got lazy. Sorry. |

Fandango will be the face of the company one day if they know what's good for them.
|
Went to wikipedia and couldn't believe some of the people still on the roster. Lot of "inactive" wrestlers listed too.
If this thread title wasn't worded so narrowly I would have said Umaga. |
Swagger.
I might even go out on a limb here and say Del Rio. |
The Miz and Kofi.
|
And here's the other names that haven't been mentioned yet:
Bray Wyatt Dean Ambrose Dolph Ziggler The Miz Ryback Seth Rollins |
I don't see Dolph Ziggler or The Miz ever becoming champions again. I am not sure about Bray Watt, Ambrose, Roidback or Seth Rollins.
|
Kane
|
Mark Henry and Rey Mysterio.
Think they'll retire soon :/ |
Ryback will be world champ at some point in 2014. The WWE can't be this stupid or petty.
|
I don't like the idea of Ryback winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He should probably start a mean streak, take out names in rapid fashion and win the United States Championship before having a "Champion vs. Champion" match for the WWE World Heavyweight title on an edition of RAW against the defending champion (preferably) John Cena in a jam-pack arena.

Even Chris fucking Jericho saw how obvious the decision to make Ryback the new wrestling megastar should have been. GAH! http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/...is-company.jpg |
Time for another Gertner stone cold lock of the week: Ryback will be world champ in 2014. Still have yet to be wrong.
|
Seriously, just have him turn on Useless Axel and make him a face again and the crowd will do the rest of the work. All they have to do is not book like fucking retards again.
|
Alberto Del Rio - He's probably the one impacted the most with the loss of the second title out of everyone in the main event tier.
Ryback - Way too many lost chances and big screw ups by the WWE. Brodus Clay - So-called "Main Event Playa" that probably will never actually be in the main event. Bad Newa Barrett - Similar to Ryback but at a lower level. Drew McIntrye Jack Swagger Antonio Cesaro - would not be surprised considering for some unexplained reason Vince and/or management don't see him as championship material. |
I don't think Ryback should have won the WWE Title at Hell in a Cell '12. I don't think he should have been put in the position of being in the match at all. I'd have gone with Punk vs. Vince McMahon in the Cell, with a continued build to Ryback challenging Punk. Or they should have done the turn of the century and have had Ryback align with Paul Heyman at some point around this time, probably targeting Cena, and then going over Cena while Punk moved onto a different WWE Title program.
|
Turning him heel when he was hot like that would have been absolutely insane. Hell, turning him heel even AFTER they had been jobbing him out and killing his momentum was a bad idea.
I'm actually not completely with Jericho on the fact that Ryback should have won at Hell in a Cell either since he would have just been a transitional champion so they could set up Rock-Cena. And I thought the way they got out of the match with Punk as champ and Ryback still looking like a beast was perfect. Jericho at least obviously realized what a good thing they had though. It's how he was booked AFTER Hell in a Cell that makes my palm meet my face. |
I felt like Ryback should have won the Rumble. And Cena, pissed off, after the restart, low bridges the Rock, costing him the WWE Title via DQ. The cheating the People's Champion out of the WWE Title should be enough to warrant Cena-Rock 2. And then you get Punk-Ryback for Mania and it lead to Ryback ultimately getting the WWE title then, on the biggest stage of them all.
|
Now, onto the OP's question. I know for a fact the following people wrestlers that are on the current roster will NEVER be champion:
Nikki Bella Brie Bella Natalya Eva Marie AJ Lee Tamina :shifty: |

I don't think Ryback's booking was really bad until WrestleMania. Yeah, he lost to The Shield, but that was forced because the WWE needed them to seem like a big threat. Their whole original purpose was to explain, with credibility, how Ryback isn't the WWE Champion. I have no clue why they didn't put Ryback over Mark Henry at WrestleMania though. That seemed silly to me. In fact, I don't see why they didn't go with Ryback vs. Big Show at Mania. After Big Show defeated Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title, I think the simplest booking would have been for Big Show and Ryback to have some tension in a backstage altercation. Maybe Ryback could have been interviewed and would be saying that he could Shell-Shock anybody in WWE. Big Show then walks past and says "Anybody, huh?" Show could dismiss Ryback as "little man" and Ryback just fumes. After retaining the World Heavyweight Title against Sheamus at the Royal Rumble or something, Ryback hits the ring and takes out Big Show with a Meat Hook. Big Show starts stirring, so Ryback hits him with a second Meat Hook. Dolph Ziggler's music then plays and out comes The Show Off to cash-in his Money in the Bank title shot. Ziggler is the new World Heavyweight Champion; Big Show has a reason to be pissed off at Ryback, who goes on a tear during the Royal Rumble, but is then attacked by Big Show and tossed out of the Rumble Match, giving him a reason to be pissed off at Show. Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho for the World Title and Big Show vs. Ryback would have been so easy to set-up. Fandango, as much as I love him, could have debuted in another fashion. Perhaps he could have attacked Chris Jericho after his match or even cost him the win? Or maybe he could have beaten Zack Ryder in a quick bout, since WrestleMania was in Ryder Town and they would have given him a nice pop. Alberto Del Rio could have won the United States Championship from Antonio Cesaro sometime after the Rumble and Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter could have targeting him and talked about redeeming the title. |

To be fair, Percy Watson absolutely oozed charisma. Got no clue what happened with him.
|
A Titus O'Neil/Percy Watson tag team would be absolutely tremendous.
|
They did for a bit in NXT.

It makes me sad to think that Dolph Zigglers best day are probably behind him. :(
|
You mean like Cesaro's incredibly strong US title run?
