Now I'm not one for watching the indy's regularly, The idea of someone getting paralysed in a 45 man arena for little or no money dosen't often appeal to me.

However, Couldn't help but be impressed by something my mate sent me today.

Just saw the young bucks for the first time. Definitely spot monkeys, but REALLY good spot monkeys. Their execution is flawless, and nothing looks sloppy at all.

I haven't watched much of The Young Bucks, but I've heard they are really good (like one of the best tag teams going today) and that they are the purist's spot-monkeys, and are capable of so much more. Probably just do the spots to get noticed and pump up a show.

Great wrestlers who often go for style over substance, if you will.

It's exciting at first, but gets old fast.

If that's all the card has, i.e. dragongate, then yeah. I think these matches are fantastic as openers.

Chuck Taylor is awesome.

Kalisto is going to be a success in the WWE, or so I feel. He should have an easier time connecting to the audience than Sin Cara. I've heard Rich Swann is actually really charismatic.

I don't see the point in flip flopping the whole match.

Give one or two spots a match and make the fans wait so that when it does happen its special. If everything is a high spot then they don't become high spots any more. How do you keep topping it?

There are only so many flips and rotations you can do, make great opening matches like Fignuts said but eventually get meh.

Exactly. Does anyone remember how basically every show from 1996 to 1998 for WCW started with random pairings of 6 man Cruiser-weight tag matches?

They always were spot fests that would devolve into a chain of signature dives to the outside. And would usually include a Hector Garza corkscrew plancha.

Then the match would finish with a Juvi 450 Splash, Y2J Top rope Frankensteiner, or insert other spot.

They would get the fans going and the rest of the show would benefit.

I would gladly watch Super Calo, Silver King and Psycosis vs Juvi, Chavo and Blitzkrieg open the show every week.

I need to watch more of The Young Bucks, because I usually trust CSL's opinion, yet I've also heard that they can be absolutely brilliant.

You alluded to their awareness earlier, but do you think it could be a choice in how they work, as opposed to not being able to?

I hope that they do manage to grow into substantial talents, and not just stylish ones.

It would also help if they weren't complete douchebags.

OK, this is kinda awesome.

Funny thing about that clip...While the flips and dives are impressive, and theres a huge amount of originality to it all...The chain stuff and the reversals stand out as the best parts.

I'd be on my feet infront of the TV if someone reversed/avoided an RKO like the guy at 2:24

There was alot of good in that video. Yes the reversals are cool. Some decent stuff. Just too much in one match. And at some points there was just garbage flips that do nothing.

You could build 4 good matches out of that clip with some proper work and psychology.

One of my biggest pet peeves in a match is wasted motion, and that's pretty much 90 percent of that.

I also hate when "Dive Parties" start because they spend 4-5 minutes outside the ring when countouts are in fair game

Saw someone have a Rock Bottom position on the top rope and did a backflip into teh mov3.

Might have been ex-WWE Paul Birchill iirc.
