WWE have in actual fact been very astute in the booking of the rumble...many marks will have been overjoyed at Batistas return and cheered him relentlessly.

WWE have successfully been able to bring him back in a heel position (his best position) without damaging any of their top faces credibility.

I highly suspect that this is all a very creative work on the WWE's part.

The WWE wants and expects Batista to receive heel heat in his match at Wrestlemania.........against World Heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan. :P

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Bryan win the title @ Elimination Chamber. Some people seem to forget we still have 1 PPV before WM XXX.

Except they have done NOTHING of the sort.

They really had no idea what that crowd was going to be like. Bats was booked on the show as a face and the PPV went off the air with him as a face. They have done NOTHING at all. Fans just simply shit on the result. Hes not a heel. People are booing him because hes a Heel. They are booing because that is not what they wanted to see.

The WWE isnt going to bring Batista in after 4 years to be a Random WM Heel losing to their new top guy....And especially a few months before his big movie release.

If they wanted a Heel for Bryan to beat they could have used Orton. They brought Bats back to be a big face at the 30th show.

If Batista fights Bryan in the Main-Event of Mania', then I would hardly consider it 'random.' Batista is a major big name and so there would be a ton of value in him winning the rumble (to re-affirm credibility), while then jobbing to Bryan.

You make a great point about his movie release, but is it really "big?" Batista ain't no Rock. Who outside of the WWE universe will care about Batista appearing in a movie? (i.e. either in a main role in a WWE sponsored movie....like "The Marine."..........or a very minor role in a Hollywood movie).

Bryan and Orton has been done a few times now, and so that is why I don't think the WWE will want Bryan/Orton at Mania'. Ditto for Bryan/Cena.

Bryan/Batista however would be completely fresh, and it would still be Bryan going up against "Triple H's boiiiii."

I think the perfect scenario is for Bryan to go over Orton either at the Feb PPV, or the night after following a screw job (i.e. think: Rock/Big Show 2000). Bryan then goes on to face Batista at Mania'.

Good points, but ask yourself this:

Given how Batista flipped off the fans at the end of the PPV, and given how the WWE *knows* how active their fanbase is on Social Media, twitter, etc., don't you think that Batista's reaction was a little more than just coincidence?

With Foley I would actually agree. His comments on facebook were really a bit much. His outrage at Bryan not being entered into the Rumble certainly feels like an angle where the support for Bryan is going to get him a match with Orton.

Cena's tied up with Wyatt anyway. It certainly fits into place on paper.

Of course, I haven't watch the Rumble. It actually sounded pretty good to me, I probably would have really liked it.

My point was more along the line of Swagger being a much bigger deal and it wasnt a clear punishment/depush, he still went to WM.

Punk and Bats were just jerks and should see no repercussion and the Management probably doesnt care at all either way.

In the WWE's defense however, it's not like they can just instantly take someone out of a main-event if a wrestler f***'s up.

In Swagger's case however, the guy pretty much went back to the mid-card shortly afterwards. He's now in a mid-card tag team.

I would argue that the WWE did infact, punish him.

I don't think they'll do it tonight.

I suspect that the WWE will do it in a slow and subtle way. They will push Batista as a face, but will deliberately have Batista do things in a certain way that will rub people the wrong way......again, in a subtle way.

After the February PPV, or the RAW after the Feb PPV (where I do strongly suspect that Bryan will win the title), we'll see Batista acting a little more overtly heelish.

Again though - that's just how I see things playing out.

If Batista goes up against Orton at Mania, both guys while have debris thrown at them........regardless of who is face or who is heel. Things could get extremely ugly and I'm sure the WWE is cognissant of this.

If you recall, Foley did a worked shoot promo with Dean Ambrose a few years back which helped Ambrose get over.

I don't see how they get around Lesnar declaring himself the #1 contender and having that match instead of the title being defended in the Chamber. lesnar could be involved in it, but why would he give up a 1-1 for a 6 man?

I dont see Lesnar losing to Bats and I dont see them putting the title on Lesnar.

I think they push the Lesnar wants the title thing, he doesnt get the title at the chamber and as a 2nd resort Heyman pushes lesnar to "get something bigger than the WWE title, Immortality."

Bryan's outrage makes sense from a storyline purpose and an easy way for the WWE to try to spin the negativity into something useable.

Foley's seems more like him being legit upset considering he's constantly defended questionable decisions the WWE has done in the past and think this might be the first time he's actually reacted badly to something they've done.

Even JR was upset over the Rumble albeit not at the tone or level like a lot of people have been on Twitter or social media.

I guess we're getting a compromise although in the end I was kind of right in that we're getting Lesnar vs Batista, just not at WM.

I think Sheamus is gonna screw Bryan in the chamber, and they'll feature it on one raw then put it in the middle of the card of Wrestlemania and put Bryan over.

I hope to God that this does NOT happen.

Daniel Bryan fighting in ANY match that isn't for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania will be a monumental waste in my opinion.

Guys like Sheamus and Alberto Del Rios are stale main-event jobbers that should be used to job to guys like Ziggler, The Wyatt Family, Jack Swagger, etc.

Cena will pin Bryan in the Chamber just to piss off people some more. Even more hilariously if they were the final two just so Cena could pull a HHH and get his win/title back, although I don't see that happening.

Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but unfortunately, I could just as easily see this happening as Bryan winning the Chamber match. Maybe even more so.
