Roddy Piper

Piper keeps going on and on in the media about trying to get a Piper's Pit with Hogan at Wrestlemania 30.

"I wrote a quick note to the WWE saying if you don't give the fans,
what they deserve, the two guys that started it, just let them walk
out, you know as more to thank them. I'm not there to have people
cheer for me, I've had my share of that and I'm very grateful. But to
have Hogan in the ring and not hit the bagpipes, the fans would never
forget it. Not to give them that, to give them that to remember for
the rest of their lives as would we, being Hogan and myself, who I've
not talked to, I think would be a mistake. This is 30 years, we
started with a thing called War to Settle The Score. The promoter put
his house and everything up on a tag team match called WrestleMania,
no number. I was definitely the dark horse in the race. 30 years later
I think that we should say hello, but I don't think the WWE's with me,
I don't know what they wanna do. But it'll tell me, if I don't come
out it'll probably be the last time." - Wrestling Observer

How do you feel about this?

Does anyone else wish he would shut up? I'd like to see this too but seeing him campaign for it is embarrassing to me.

Bad News Gertner 03-30-2014 06:09 PM

He's doing a 1984 Timeline with Kayfabe Commentaries. Excited about that. Has nothing to do with your question.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-30-2014 06:20 PM

He deserves to be out there doing something. It should be embarrassing to the WWE that he has to campaign to be included in the show.

Shisen Kopf 03-30-2014 06:23 PM

They should also have Mr Wonderful and Bob Orton and Snuka there too then. Piper is so full of himself.

Droford 03-30-2014 07:15 PM

They should have done all of this at the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania. They didnt really do anything special for that that I remember. 30 is an odd number to get all nostalgic about.

Theo Dious 03-30-2014 07:31 PM

Wasn't Hogan in TNA during WM25?

Tazz Dan 03-30-2014 07:49 PM

Wasn't there a report where WWE contacted all major superstars from the past or something? Surely he'll be there in some capacity.

Bad News Gertner 03-30-2014 10:18 PM

Orton can't make it. He has a broken arm.

Shisen Kopf 03-30-2014 10:23 PM

Didn't mr Wonderful pull a Tazz dan and got the cancer a few years back?

I think so.

Maybe like a former KOTR winner Bret Hart, you could pull a stroke. Or even of one better, pull an Owen Hart.

Piper/Snuka/Steamboat (w/ Flair) vs Jericho and the whole co-promotion with The Wrestler.

Safety first. I would thoroughly check the harness and I would land in the ring without incident.

Tazz Dan 03-30-2014 10:41 PM

Are you saying you're like a cat?

Did you just call yourself a pussy?

30/3 = 10 (modulus 0), 25/3 = 8.33333... (modulus infinite .3)

It's the 'power of the mystical integer multiples of 3' that makes the 30th so important... :shifty:

Slik would know best about the 30th vs. 25th conspiracy! :y:

Shadrick 03-31-2014 06:20 AM

legit get thrown off my groove to respond to fragile when i see his sig.

so i'll respond to what i think you asked.

yes, i have been working out.

XL 03-31-2014 07:26 AM

Honestly couldn't think of much worse than Piper, Hogan, etc. hobbling to the ring for a cliche-driven Pit in the middle of the biggest show of the year. Would be a complete mood killer. Maybe if they did it on the stage.

as long as they don't wrestle i love seeing them on the mic, last pit piper was getting ambrose over. i would like to see piper and bray go at it. bray allready got his digs in at hogan and cena at the same time.

whiteyford 03-31-2014 12:07 PM

Backstage skit at best, really don't want to see the show bogged down with old timers just for the sake of it.

Surfer Sandman 03-31-2014 01:32 PM

If not Hogan, why not Mr.T?

We know that T and Piper have some unfinished business.

Emperor Smeat 03-31-2014 01:55 PM

Considering Hogan and Mr T are going at the event, a quick segment might be good.

Maybe even better if it acts as the cool down spot for the final two matches on the card so the crowd isn't exhausted for the title match.

Nah, man. He didn't officially appear for them until early 2010, and the announcement of his being signed by them and the airing of the signing and press conference on an episode of Impact didn't even happen until late October 2009, some 5 months after WM XXV.

What makes 25 a more suitable number for nostalgia than 30?

erickman 04-01-2014 05:20 PM

guess piper had his moment last night if he and hogan do anything it will be about the over the top 30 man battle.

A) It represents 1/4 of a century of something which is a huge deal

B) It's the silver anniversary.

#1-norm-fan 04-01-2014 11:29 PM

So in other words WrestleMania 26 should have been the most "special" WrestleMania since the first. Hmmmmm

James Steele 04-01-2014 11:38 PM

WM26 was pretty special since Triple H made Sheamus a true superstar that night.

#1-norm-fan 04-01-2014 11:42 PM

lol. Another Triple H WrestleMania match I forgot even happened.

Someone at WWE doesn't understand the meaning of the word "Anniversary" Wrestlemania 25 can't be the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania.

#1-norm-fan 04-01-2014 11:49 PM

A (verbal) evisceration of the English language, I say.
