WWE's list of the Top 10 Mania matches that never happened of all-time

WWE.com put together another Wrestlemania-themed list albeit this time about the stories behind 10 Mania matches that almost had a chance of happening. The list itself is not in any particular order.

Quote:

Hogan-Andre, Austin-Rock, Michaels-Undertaker. Some matches are simply destined to occur at The Showcase of the Immortals. But with so many moving parts in WWE paired with the complexities of organizing entertainment’s greatest spectacle, many bouts planned for WrestleMania have been nixed, cut, scrapped or changed for reasons unexplained — until now.

From dream matches to the culminations of longstanding rivalries, these are the contests that became lost pieces in WrestleMania’s constantly evolving puzzle. To learn their untold stories, WWE.com spoke with WWE Hall of Famers, a few degenerates and even a certain COO who were involved in these potential encounters. Read on to discover the truth behind 10 WrestleMania moments that almost were.

Any of those matches you would have liked to have seen or thought it would have been a good idea to do?

I remember being very disappointed that X-Pac and Kane didn't get that Exploding Barbed Wire Cage Match. I felt cheated when they put The Rock against Hogan because we all knew who the real number 1 was. It was just like not having Flair vs Hogan or Bret vs Hogan.

Actually all of those would have been awesome but who cares about Cena and Jay Z.

TRIPLE H VS MIKE TYSON ?!?! I don't remember that in the sheets. That would have been awful/amazing.

I thought Flair/Hogan was a slam dunk WM main event.

I still LOL @ myself from way back hoping of all things that Heidenreich vs. Snitsky would make a great match at a WM. I now also realize, hindsight being 20/20 and all, that my past self from that time period was retarded.

I can't imagine how anyone would think otherwise. It's insane that it didn't happen.

^^^ happened at house shows. according to Hogan the match didn't feel right. According to Flair, Hogan couldn't work at his pace. In reality, fans cheered Ric

I don't buy that they were worried the match would be technically flawed as a legitimate reason it didn't happen. Hogan vs. Andre is still the biggest match of all time. If someone would have not wanted to do it for those reasons, Vince would have laughed in their face. There's no way Hogan vs Sid or Savage vs Flair was a better option than the ultimate dream match at the time between Hogan and Flair.

As sad as I am that Hogan vs Flair didn't happen, Flair vs Savage is one of my favorite WM matches of all time.

Hogan didn't want to do the match because flair was getting better reactions than Hogan. Flair was the new kid and didn't have enough pull to make it happen at that point. I have no problem with them doing sid Hogan and savage flair if they found a way for it to make sense, but having Hogan v. sid close the show and not the match for the title was fucking blasphemy
