WWE contract length

What's the deal with some of the long contract terms that WWE dishes out? Am I right in thinking that both the Big Show and Mark Henry were both given 10 year contracts when they first started? Are these just exceptions or does the WWE often give out such long contracts?

I think back in 1996 they gave Bret Hart a 20 year deal (With the opt out clause after a year, which he obviously took)

But yeah Show and Henry did receive 10 year deals.

I think WWE dishes out long term contracts for people who have a lot of potential in terms of their height, weight, gimmick... Just like Mark Henry and Big Show. Both did not have wrestling ability when they first started out. Both used the first 2 years of the contract training, before making it out to the big stage.

Big Show worked WrestleMania in his first full MONTH with the company. If that's not the "big stage", then I don't know what is.

Big Show was also a big draw from WCW when he first joined I think that's why.

I like big show, if given the right gimmick he can be great! Good as a face.
