Did Mickey Rourke die at the end of The Wrestler?
 

Would have been better to show him dead at the end.

It isn't important. What is important to know is that he WILL die because wrestling is all he knows and he can't get away from it. Even in the face of death, he can't change what he's used to. And he'd rather go out as The Ram than the potato salad guy from the grocery store.

My reading of it was the same as Narc's. I don't think he died right there having jumped off the top rope. I thought the message was that he would die because he couldn't give it up.

Mickey Rourke didn't die. Randy The Ram did.

He survived but his career died with Iron Man 2.

It reminded me of the end of In Bruges. You don't get to know that you're dead, there isn't a game over screen.

What happened was he turned into a butterfly when he jump off the rasslebuckle and flew away.
