For anyone who firsts opens this thread it was originally about UFC 178 Jones vs Gus. Gus then got hurt so UFC gave Daniel Cormier the title shot. At a press tour to promote the fight Cormier shoved Jones by the throat and Donnybrook ensued. Huge hype and buzz for this fight was quieted when Overeem hurt Jones in camp. Some feel that Gus should be given the shot in January but I am very pumped up for the DC match.

I'm just explaining this because the first few posts are about a completely different card than what this has become.

Fancy Gus in this but not enough to put money on it.

I will be happy if Gus wins but really want Jones to win so DC can toss him around.

Gus, as the number 1 contender is fighting for the belt not to fight Jones so if DC wins then that's his opponent unless Dana steps in for whatever reason or things happen that mess with the rankings like injuries or Chael Sonnen-esque match lobbying.

Gus is still in the mix and depending on his layoff will prolly either get an immediate title shot or title eliminator. It really all depends on how much time he needs off and if there will be a Jones/DC rematch.

Jones needs to just embrace his full heel side.

I'm surprised Bones is this aggressive now. He would ignore the trash talk before, now he's going all in.

Nice. He should turn full heel, all this apologising is crap. He should have ran with it like sonnen would, buys would be through the roof.

That said, the height and reach difference makes it seem like this is jones' for the taking, which is a shame because I want Cormier to win

Considering the fight hasn't happened yet I'd say two months.
