Kevin Steen Signing
 

Just curious to hear everyone ones thoughts now that Kevin Steen has officially signed a contract. Do you think he will succeed like the Indy stars before him or just get lost in the shuffle?

Might have some Vader like career, which is good. That's being optimistic

it's the same as anyone else: we'll see. he has the tools to get it done, but there are a million factors (internal and external) that can effect that. i certainly hope he can get over because he's fucking awesome.

Tag team with Bull Dempsey.

He will have a stuttering gimmick on his debut.

I hope he gets along with Sami Zayn. Those two look like they'd hit it off together.

I'm a fan of fat guys who can actually go in the ring so I'm for it. I've seen very little of him on the mic. From what I have seen though, he seems... passable. Better than most of the indy darling type guys at least.

They actually kinda look alike. Maybe they'll bring him in as his brother.

In case they do bring him in as Kevin Steen. His catch phrase will have to be "Thrill Steen Thrill."

I have no idea who this guy is, but he looks like a complete jobber.

Who the fuck is Kevin Steen and why should I care?

Steen has long be one of the highlights of American independent wrestling. His in-ring style his hard-hitting and believable, and I've heard his mic work is top-notch. He apparently plays a great antagonist. I've seen it suggested that if Steen can't get himself looking like a brick shithouse, they should just make him a manager of some guys.

Less success than Hero

If hero was let go cause of weight issues then steen doesnt stand a chance.

He will have to change all of his trademark spots and adapt (or perish) to WWE's style. One of Steen's big things is the piledriver which is banned. If they break his ROH Spotmonkey type performance, it could be interesting.

I like Heisenberg's reference of a Vader type career. He has the same build and it could work if done right.

You'd like to think he's learnt from Hero's mistakes at least.

How tall is he?

Steen is 5'11'' according to Wikipedia. Vader was billed as 6'5''. Dunno if that same aura would be there.

Taz was 4'3", he did alright aura wise.

Guess it depends how they present him post NXT, anyone can get over there, Braden Walker must be wishing he waited a few years to sign.

Steen has gotten in a lot better shape in the past years and I think as a shit load of charisma. I had the chance to see his last indy match in Ontario for Smash Wrestling. I appreciate what you're trying to do there, but that description does nothing to make me want to see that. Are there any recent pics, perhaps?

Wish people wouldn't compare the stuff with Hero to Steen. I think the WWE are aware of Steen's body type/what they're getting with him. They're not gonna expect a chiseled body. Steen is a certain body type, Hero isn't in the same boat. He was taller and should have been leaner than Steen could ever hope to be. It'd be like criticising Earthquake for not being in the same shape as Hogan.

Cant wait for the debut. Maybe he, Kenta, and Devitt will all debut togethr as a faction of forigners taking over NXT kind of like the Bullet Club in Japan

Steen is stocky like George Costanza. Hero looks like my Uncle Reggie.

Not when the guy is under 6'2"

He's billed at 5'11" (thats 5'9" max for those playing at home) so to think he should look like a Hart, Jericho, Storm, Guerrerro, Benoit etc isnt unfair.
