The last TLP Podcast I ever listened to had somebody shit on Dean Ambrose. Never listened again.
Roman Reigns needs to be helped a couple of times by a Diva, come off as "look, i appreciate it, but dont need it". She still manages to let him know about things that he is "unaware of" (future handicap match bookings, attacks from behind, etc). Makes his character/story a little more interesting. I personally dont have a problem with him, but people, including WWE management, that just like pro sports these hot shot rookies arent going to get it all in one year...thats what pisses me off about how the WWE handles some of its talents..people like HHH, Cena, etc had time to develop, learn the business, etc. The only exception would probably be Lesnar.
I'm from Cincinnati as well, and Ambrose has been the shit forever. Mox is representing well. :y:
He is amazing, just wondering why after all this time feuding, both he and Rollins still both have God-awful generic themes. Would it really be SO difficult to come up with something for each of them individually?
Just sayin’. |

i like rollins' and ambrose's themes. i guess i'm in the minority big time.
if you know anything about rollins and the music he listens to, the theme is a perfect fit. it is one of the rare instances i think vocals would help out a lot, though. and ambrose's is fine. distinctive enough that i don't think it sounds generic. you know it's him when that revving sound hits.

I'm such a fucking mark for Ambrose. He's charismatic as all hell. He's even taken the corny things the WWE has got him to do -- the distracting of Rollins and the ice-bucket thing on RAW -- and he's made them work. What Santino Marella did with the WWE's silly little segments with him, Ambrose is doing with being a "fun" babyface. That he fights like a mad man possessed is also helping him connect.
I thought it was kind of jarring when he first got new music, despite fighting against The Authority (why would they give him new music the week after he gets turned on by Rollins?), but I do like the theme. It reminds me a bit of The Joker's music from The Dark Knight. I'm not digging Seth's theme, but I think elements of it can be kept. He's the sort of guy that should get a grand entrance -- why else would you align with The Authority? I have no malice against Roman Reigns, of course, but I just don't dig his ring performances or promos as much. When he was the quiet and brooding third man in The Shield, his charisma shined through. Now that he's in the solo spotlight, he's getting the "golden child" push, and I think audiences are starting to see right through it and that they'll begin to reject it. I doubt the company will listen and will keep pushing Reigns until the adult males in the audience hate him, but we'll see. Random thought: Lately I've been thinking that a heel turn for Roman Reigns would actually be quite effective. We've gotten used to thinking of Reigns as the heroic babyface since around the Royal Rumble, where it became evident that the company has big plans for him -- but what if he turned on Dean Ambrose during a tag team match against Randy Orton & Seth Rollins or something? Ambrose becomes the last one who believes in justice, and is the one left fighting against an insurmountable regime. Reigns would become the golden child of The Authority, which would suit the company's true intentions with him. Reigns can justify his heel turn on the mic rather simply: "I'm money. Everybody knows it. I'm destined for big things and I've proven that I should be The Face of the WWE." Rollins and Orton don't need to like it, especially Orton, who could turn face in the chaos. Rollins can just remind Reigns that if he does win the WWE World Heavyweight Title, Rollins will be there with his briefcase (the tensions Orton and Rollins were teasing heading into Battleground). |
I like that he headbutts a lot.
Idk man, this whole heel turn stuff with Reigns just doesn't sit well with me. I'm not saying that i totally like this "babyface" thing he's doing, but he needs to be a tweener. Like, he needs to just be like "look, we got played (him and Ambrose), so now i don't trust ANYBODY" and just run through his opponents. Turning him heel will only, IMO, make people "not get" what the WWE is doing with him. Like, he keeps getting messed with by the Authority, one of his mates turns on him, and now he's going to join and become heel??? Doesn't make sense to me and will seem forced.
Wrestlers like Reigns needs people to get behind him organically. Also, he needs to brush up on some technical skill as well. I would LOVE to see him be able to perform his big man moves, as well as be a mix between Lesnar/Angle/Tazz. And I don't know why, but i feel like he needs to have a Diva just keep assisting him when she can, even though he constantly says he doesn't need it. Then somehow that turns into something later on and he has a valet. But the Diva needs to be cool af, like not a prancing, can't get her nails broken - type. Alicia Fox would be awesome for him because she is portrayed to have an edge of some sort and could work well for him. IMO of course.... |
Ambrose is the new Piper.
The wife keeps going on about how much women must want to fudge him all the time, which actually means her.
I will laugh my ass off if, after he does this movie, the movie blows up and he becomes a huge movie star.
I can understand why women would want a piece of Ambrose. He's like James Dean crossed with a psycho-killer.
