Recommend some stuff that you don't think a lot of people have seen...
...to watch on the Network. Whether it be a hidden gem of a match, an entire show, or your favorite episode of Slam City, help the rest of us appreciate wrestling history the way that YOU do!
One of my favorite matches is Shawn Michaels v. The British Bulldog for the Intercontinental title on an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event from November of 1992 (I think). Check it out! Whatcha got? |
Clash of the Champions VII: Guts and Glory
Match to watch: Ranger Ross defeated The Terrorist. USA #1 woooooo! |
Obscure hidden gem: Afa vs Dick Murdoch WWF 1984 MSG show. Murdoch's comdeic selling is the greatest thing I've ever seen.
|
Getting the obvious out of the way, if any of you have the Network and don't watch NXT, you're missing out big time. Lots of fun to be had on that show.

every Survivor Series match between 1987 and 1990
Rockers/Orient Express - Royal Rumble 91 Arn & Tully vs. Sting/Nikita Koloff - Great American Bash 88 |
It was during Murdoch and Adonis's tag title reign. From memory I'm gonna say October 22nd 1984 (i have it written on my dvd). Adonis fought Sika on that show, Valentine vs Santana for the IC belt abd Hogan vs Studd for the world.
|
I just started Hog Wild 96, and it's fucking hilarious so far. Nothing has happened, but I'm losing it.
|
I LOVE watching old MSG/Boston Garden/Philly Spectrum shows from 1983-1986, as well as old T.V tapings. Been on a huge kick from that time period. Really interesting to see the transition from Vince Sr's WWF to Vince Jr
|
Dean Malenko vs Scotty 2 Hotty for the Lightheaveyweight Title @ Backlash 2000.
Favorite WWF/E Cruiser/Lightheavyweight match ever. |
One of the first 2 or 3 RAW 's has a running storyline of Repo Man re possessing Macho Man's hat. Fun times.
Also, main event of In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies. Kevin Nash 's best match ever. And, the opener of King of the Ring '96 between Austin and Marc Mero. 4 star match. |

from survivor series that is.

I think it was a Boston Garden card in 86 that had a very nice Steamboat/Bret Hart match, it was either on the Network or on youtube.
|
Steamboat was soooooooooooooooooo good as a babyface
|
The Steiner Brothers vs anyone
|
Especially jobbers on Nitro
|
<font color=goldenrod>Might have posted this in 100,000 replies but...Flyin' Brian vs. Johnny B Badd in the opening match of Fall Brawl 1995. There's no way that wasn't Mero's best match ever.
There's also a Flair vs. Arn match on that card too, which is really good as you'd expect.</font> |
Daniel Bryan v. Dolph Ziggler in the Bragging Rights 2010 opener is hot as shit. Kick fest 2010, they should have called it.
|
Same show, there's a pretty entertaining segment directly following that match with Team Raw...uhhh....discussing strategy, I guess.

Either the Clash of the Champions or the '92 Beach Blast one. Fucking awesome matches. |
Who is The Miracle Violence Connection? That's an awesome team name.
|
Terry Gordy and Steve Williams

Doom vs Arn Anderson/Ric Flair (NWA/WCW World Tag Title match - Halloween Havoc '90)
Doom vs Arn Anderson/Barry Windham (NWA/WCW World Tag Title Street Fight - Starrcade '90) |
The Magnum TA/Mr. Wrestling 2 team breaking up in 1984 Mid South. Awesome storytelling, and some fantastically executed angles.
|
They haven't put up Mid South or the UWF yet, which sucks because I want to see a clean version of THEY PUT THE FLAG ON THE COWBOY
|
where to begin with this topic.
here's a few worth checking out. the crowd alone here is just amazing. these four put on an outstanding tag team match. I would it in my top ten list for my favorite matches ever. Kenta Kobashi/Tsuyoshi Kikuchi versus Can Am Express (Dan Kroffat/Doug Furnas) <object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/RY5NDCCoUNs?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/RY5NDCCoUNs?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> These four men in this one had many many great matches in their careers. Many of them featured the four of them. Their feud in Japan was just awesome. this one is another all time favorite match of mine Kenta Kobashi/Mitsuharu Misawa versus Akira Taue/Toshiaki Kawada <object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/IIWhcRbilSE?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/IIWhcRbilSE?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Genichiro Tenryu versus Ted Dibiase <object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/BjZGqW4BP5A?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/BjZGqW4BP5A?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> |
Seth got so excited by the thread title, that he didn't read the first post.

Check out Paul Orndorff turning heel on Hogan in 1986. His heel turn was just bad timing for Paul. Too bad it wasn't earlier in the year. It could have headlined WM2.
|
Tennessee Lee promoting and delivering Jeff Jarrett singing with Sawyer Brown at Unforgiven '98.
|
Disco Inferno Vs. Alex Wright for the TV Title.
.../.../.../ ~~~~~ Disco inferno Vs. Perry Saturn return title match. .../.../.../ ~~~~~ (Might not be in the Network yet) |

Orndorff was injured during that time. I doubt he would have been able to compete anyways. His arm was fucked.
|
When did he turn heel? I wonder if Macho Man's late-86 run against Hogan on the house shows cut into his program.

Rey is encouraging the USA chants, though. Did you notice he was billed as being from Tijuana, Mexico? Also, they were calling him Ultimate Dragon. |
It's Fourfifty.
