Probably going to better than most guests hosts even if its just in a grumpy mood the whole time.

Grumpy cat is serious business

Anybody Thrilla 11-10-2014 03:45 PM

How in the fuck.

slik 11-10-2014 04:15 PM

I'm guessing a CGI cat voiced by Aubrey Plaza to promote that Lifetime movie about Grumpy Cat.

#1-norm-fan 11-10-2014 04:27 PM

Will grumpy cat write it's own segments like Katy Lee and Hoda?

Outsider 11-10-2014 05:06 PM

I hope they bring the cat out on stage, the crowd boo it, it gets startled and pegs it into the crowd, never to be seen again.

#1-norm-fan 11-10-2014 05:26 PM

Re-posting this from casual...

I get it. They're aiming for a younger demographic. Like 5 year olds and stuff. But then there's another portion of the show that throws some "asses" and "bitches" around and has more characters with gimmicks that appeal specifically to an older crowd like Bray Wyatt or pre-face turn Zeb Colter.

It's like they don't understand that appealing to a variety of age ranges doesn't mean you have to specifically alienate a large portion to please another. Kids are easy. You can entertain them with bright lights and big guys with muscles playing "good vs evil" while adding more depth for an older crowd. You don't need to go full Nickelodeon.

Anybody Thrilla 11-10-2014 05:33 PM

Seriously though. What the fuck is Grumpy Cat?

owenbrown 11-10-2014 05:36 PM

CAN WWE MAKE GRUMPY CAT SMILE?

STAMFORD, Conn., November 10, 2014 – Internet sensation Grumpy Cat will guest star on WWE's flagship program, Monday Night Raw, Monday, November 17 at 8/7C on the USA Network.

Grumpy Cat has become a pop-culture phenomenon and currently boasts 7 million Facebook fans, 500,000 Instagram followers and her YouTube page has received 29 million video views. With countless media appearances including The Today Show, American Idol and Forbes Magazine under her collar, Grumpy Cat has taken over with a best-selling book, a beverage line and her own line of merchandise. Next up for this celebrity feline is the original movie Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever which will air November 29th on Lifetime.

"WWE's mission is to put smiles on people's faces – and now we will attempt the same with Grumpy Cat," said WWE Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon. "We are going to do everything in our power to make sure she has a good time."

Monday Night Raw is the longest-running, weekly episodic program in U.S. primetime TV history and is the most-watched, regularly scheduled programs on cable, airing live every Monday night on USA Network. Each week, it is rated one of the most socially active shows on cable television and continues to be a "must-stop" for celebrities to reach WWE's TV audience and its more than 420 million social media followers.

Hopefully this is just more ammo for Vince to point out when he 'fires' the Authoritah.

#1-norm-fan 11-10-2014 05:48 PM

420 million social media followers. Who, ironically, will have to be high in order to enjoy this.

Anybody Thrilla 11-10-2014 05:53 PM

Did this bitch just say they're going to do everything in their power to entertain a cat? It's like they're daring me not to watch.

What if it resulted in a King of the Cat tournament with the winner getting a mini gold statue of a grumpy cat?

Hopefully it wouldn't get smashed as fast as the Andre statue did for Cesaro.

Knowing the WWE probably going to do some lame segment involving Hornswoggle dressing up as the cat instead.

Anybody Thrilla 11-10-2014 06:15 PM

Well, I do like tournaments.

Same here, but at what point do you say no? Why not just have Jaxon DeVille, and the Bengals mascot host while you're at it?

You thought puppies was bad, now King has excuses to do pussy jokes.

Black Widow 11-10-2014 11:51 PM

Are they gonna dress the whole roster in FUBU and have them do the Macarena also?

James Steele 11-11-2014 12:20 AM

I like Grumpy Cat.

Vastardikai 11-11-2014 05:03 PM

Who's willing to bet that Tardar Sauce gets more heat than most of the WWE locker room?

Mr. Nerfect 11-11-2014 09:48 PM

I hope someone kayfabe "kills" Grumpy Cat. It's the only way this will get any mainstream attention.

Are you saying the cast of "Too Many Cooks" should host Raw?

I like it.

#1-norm-fan 11-12-2014 03:01 PM

Also, the killer should stay on as a recurring character.
