Most Disappointed Wrestler in History

http://replygif.net/i/1189.gif

That's a pretty disappointed wrestler right there...

Any more you can think of who are the most disappointed wrestlers?

FourFifty 11-11-2014 01:27 AM

.....Nope. You have it right there.

The man that paved the way and showed the light for social media to the WWE got a mild pushed while being white hot. Dude should have been pushed to the moon while the entire arena, and not just the people on social media, were chanting "WE WANT RYDER, WOO WOO WOO!"

He's young enough and talented enough to get a good push (when he comes back).

Should it happen? #YESYESYES
Will it happen? #NoChanceInHell

Tom Guycott 11-11-2014 02:57 AM

Yes. My thought on Zack Ryder can be summed up thusly:

After a specific King of the Ring, a certain bald wrestler cuts a certain bible related promo, and gives birth to a phrase that transcends his career, and even wrestling itself, into a pop culture phenomenon. .. and WWE goes and decides to not only not to market that in any way, but they fail to put that guy on TV anymore, save matches on Shotgun Saturday night or the occasional job on RAW.

Am I saying Zack would've been the next Austin: most likely not... BUT the point is, we'll never know. Nobody knew Austin was going to become as big as he was even then. But Zack is a case study on what would have happened to Steve if they just pissed that winning lottery ticket away to do something else.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-11-2014 03:01 AM

Nope he's hurt for 6 months too. Probably gonna get released.

#1-norm-fan 11-11-2014 03:12 AM

Ryder had his chance just like Austin did. He was getting constant TV time andtime to talk on the mic and make an impression and he never showed anything. He's just didn't have what it takes to be much of a star past that initial wave of overness. Winning the IC title was an overachievement even.

Though they should have made more of a WrestleMania moment out of his storyline with Eve by having her pair up with The Miz while someone like Layla pairs up with Zack and he beats Miz as a big "lol suck it bitch" to Eve to have a happy ending to the story and move on from there. Instead they wasted all the build on a side story to a 14 man tag match.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-11-2014 04:32 AM

I think Ryder's defeatist attitude stuffed him.

I think bret hart is the most disappointed wrestler in history. He seems perpetually disappointed with everything. It's partially why I love him, shootwise.

#1-norm-fan 11-11-2014 04:34 AM

Was Tim White ever a wrestler? If so, him. Couldn't even kill himself properly. So much disappointment.

Think you mean US Title.

XL 11-11-2014 05:56 AM

Kennedy/Anderson has to be up there. So close to grabbing that brass ring on more than one occasion with WWE and it always went to shit. Could have been huge.

Destor 11-11-2014 05:59 AM

everyone missed the point of this thread

Tom Guycott 11-11-2014 08:13 AM

... or they clicked on the wrong one.

And I didn't, by the way, because we'll never know. None of us. Including Ryder himself. If that isn't a reason for him to be pretty damn dissappointed, I don't know what is.

ha!

Big Vic 11-11-2014 10:20 AM

Didn't Zack Ryder have a terrible promo right after winning the US title?

Mercenary 11-11-2014 08:11 PM

#1-wwf-fan is right. Now, how much of Ryder's push was up to Ryder and how much was management is entirely unknown. Ryder certainly has never been able to make his charisma translate into personality, and his best match is still his ECW Title match against Christian in, like, 2009.

Anybody Thrilla 11-12-2014 02:15 PM

Christian was having good matches with everyone around that team. He even had a banger with Yoshi Tatsu.

FourFifty 11-12-2014 11:51 PM

I still think Christian could have been huge after he came back from his run in TNA. Captain Charisma Christan Cage could have been huge. He's the guy "the man" tried to keep down. Rename the Killswitch to the C4, have a few work shoots on how Vince and Triple H are only pushing "WWE made" wrestlers (Orton, Cena) while a self made superstar like Captain Charisma Christian Cage is kept down.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-13-2014 12:51 AM

Do you think he is disappointed by that FourFifty?

FourFifty 11-13-2014 01:49 AM

Considering that at one point Vince McMahon wanted to censor out his face with a blue dot, anything without Edge being the focal point we can count as a disappointment.

You'd think that

XL 11-13-2014 05:13 AM

So you don't think that Kennedy would be disappointed in the way his career went?

Or are people missing the point of the parody thread by replying at all?

At no point does it explicitly say that the point of the topic was to post pictures of wrestlers looking disappointed.

Though your selection of disappointed wrestler pictures is pretty great.

#1-norm-fan 11-13-2014 08:28 AM

Taker and Foley don't even look disappointed. Awful.

Destor 11-13-2014 08:47 AM

Foley has the classic dissapointed father look

Destor 11-13-2014 08:47 AM

Destor 11-13-2014 08:47 AM

taker has smelled your fart and isnt please

its a funeral for god's sake

Mr. Nerfect 11-14-2014 04:06 AM

Lol, Destor turning it around.

I don't think people missed the point so much as they just decided to expand on loose subjects in the thread.

Mr. Nerfect 11-14-2014 04:08 AM

Christian was THE MAN in 2005. I think we forget just how fucking over he was getting. When he came back, I can completely understand why they didn't hot-shot him into a spot, but looking back at it, an ECW Title win against Swagger at WrestleMania XXV would have been a pretty cool thing to do.

I find it so weird that face Christian hardly ever got any time on the mic to sell his character. The company still keeps him employed, so I'm not going to cry "conspiracy," but it does seem like they almost didn't want him to be able to use one of his best talents to make them money.
