When I was about 13, a kid told me he had found a code called "Rated R Mode" in Street Fighter Turbo for SNES. On the Capcom logo, hold down Y+A+R trigger & 360 on the d-pad. He said in that mode if you KO'd someone with a fierce punch, their head would explode in a fountain of blood, and if you got a Perfect on Chun Li + KO'd her with a special move, her dress would fly off.

I called him a lying piece of crap, then ran home and tried the hell out of the code. I was dissapointed.

All kinds of super secret characters in mortal kombat games. I'm sure some of you remember Ermac rumors in MK2, but how many of you tried to figure out how to unlock Nimbus Terrafaux in MK1?

Ermac was the biggest one for me. Spent a good 2 hours trying to unlock him.

Well, I think everybody believed in Ermac since his rumor started in EGM. A guy sent in a photoshopped capture sayain he'd found him

Another one I heard thru the school grapevine was that Sting was hidden in Wrestlemania The Arcade Game, you had to do some impossible thing with Luger to unlock him I think :lol:

Nudality- MK II was the BIGGEST one I remember. Man, MK II was amazing.

you could unlock koopa trooper in mario kart 64 by putting in some ridiculously long code on the title screen

beavis and butthead as a team in NBA Jam. I tried unlocking them for years as a kid

It was possible (though incredibly rare) for King Hippo to get up after you'd knocked him down, only he was faster and skinnier.

Mortal Kombat 2. Shang Tsung had a 3rd secret fatality where you can morph into Kintaro and do something. Had to hold block or something for 25 seconds and it would happen.

Never could do it.

Yeah, I heard of the Kintaro one as well.

No wonder why I couldn't do it, because you had to be the 1 person in America to own the Sega 32x attachment and have the "32x Mortal Kombat" game.

I heard when I was a kid that you could shoot the dog in duck hunt. It's was all lies. I spent 10 years trying to shoot that bastard but he ultimately had to be put down due to old age.

When ps2 came out, there was already playstation 9 in china and japan. I remember that stupid one.

Another no mercy one was that if you 100%'d the game you'd get to see the undertaker coming down the ramp on his bike

I totally got all the 1/32 Shinra soldier dolls and resurrected Aeris and got Sephiroth to join my party.

Actually this wasn't even a photoshop. It was a legit error where reptile's color changed to red. "ERMAC" is actually an error message.

Oh shit yeah, it took me a while to figure out 1/32 was the scale of the dolls and that there wasn't a set of 32. Never REALLY wanted Aeris back though, she kind of sucked.

I know the ERMAC wasn't faked... but wasn't that grainy image faked because the guy gave Scorpion a red hue?
