Reigns, however, could be huge if he can become even better than decent on the mic. Clearly has the look and has flashed the ability.

I would not be terribly upset if Roman Reigns "shocked the world" and won the rumble.

Bray Wyatt is really good though. Just as a character, he's outstanding. But this year they were looking for the next main event face. And he doesn't fit that role. Apparently Roman Reigns fits that role?

I actually don't get it either. I don't get how the WWE didn't get it last year. What did they actually think would happen?

People should be more upset that Roman Reigns didn't win. He's a future main eventer and won't be 47 in two years.

Cena, Wyatt, Daniel Bryan,

Can't decide who Bryan loses to. Maybe Roman Reigns.

Go ahead and use that search function and post any more findings here!! :)

ron the dial 01-26-2015 05:35 PM

opinions can change in a year. is that what you're getting at?

Shadrick 01-26-2015 05:42 PM

It isn't Reigns winning. Its the fact that DB is hotter, and Reigns hasn't been positioned properly for fans to be as open to it as they would want him to be.

At least, thats my opinion of everyone being upset.

What a dumb thread

Damian Rey 01-26-2015 05:50 PM

I'd like to pat myself on the back. I backed Reigns with the idea that he could use a year to improve and build to that point. He hasn't evolved at all, making me justifiably disappointed in both his growth and his grossly over pushed position in the company.

This place needs more RDD threads.

I thought Roman Reigns would be pretty good as a singles star and possibly a viable face of the company. Hasn't worked out too well.

Might have been better with the extra months worth of development had he not been injured. Then again considering how bad he's been with promos even with the WWE hiring professional help, maybe not.

Damian Rey 01-26-2015 06:54 PM

Apparently you must hold onto that opinion forever, current circumstances be damned.

Ol Dirty Dastard 01-26-2015 06:59 PM

I think he should headline Wrestlemania. Winning the rumble should mean something. If he's worth his salt, he'll find a way to make it work. If he's not, then he won't. This is a big crunch time in his career, and maybe he can use it to step up in whatever way he can.

You know what I don't get?!!

Why didn't the WWE give Cesaro the push that they gave to Reigns (after last year's Wrestlemania).

Using WWE logic - I "get" the fact that they aren't huge fans of Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, and Dolph Zigger due to their small sizes, but Cesaro is very well built.

Cesaro's 'swing move' was the most 'over' move in the WWE last year. Jack Swagger's theme song fit him to a tee, and the WWE should have had Swagger get a new theme.

Cesaro winning the Rumble and going over Lesnar would have been extremely well received..........even if the fans would've been upset over Bryan's elimination.

Damian Rey 01-26-2015 07:36 PM

While I'd typically agree that he should make the most of the situation, quite a bit of this is beyond Romans reach. He can't force the crowd to like him. It has to be organic. The only way out now is to turn him heel, have Vince and co completely back him, and keep Lesnar tweener. I cannot fathom how else they could make it work after last night.

Maybe turn Heyman heel at Mania. That could work. Keeping Reigns as a face and pretending everyone's cool with it won't work.

Bootista didn't deserve to win the Royal Rumble last year. Reigns was a good option at the time. Not so much now because of how bad he is on the mic.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-27-2015 08:51 AM

He was serviceable he wasn't forced to carry a promo.

I stand by what I said. Roman Reigns is going to be the real deal. Doesn't mean I have to like how they are currently going about it. Daniel Bryan was the right choice to win the 2015 Royal Rumble, in my opinion, as it just seems like the proper story to tell. Bryan could have been used to make Reigns and many other guys. I'm also not entirely sure that Reigns as a top face is as appealing as Reigns as a top heel.

But I also would have suggested Reigns win the vacant title at Money in the Bank and be the guy to drop the title to Brock Lesnar, just to give him two months or so to test his viability as a champion. So what do I really know?
