So....anyone seen Shrek 2?

Just wondering if it's worth $8-12 depending on which theater I go to.

Most overrated animated movies ever. If you wanna watch a really good animated movie, watch Ice Age :y:.

Boondock Saint 05-21-2004 12:03 AM

I've heard mad good things. Thought the first one was great. Gonna try to see it tomorrow.

Very good pick. :y: Ray Romano rocks.

YOUR Hero 05-21-2004 12:19 AM

I have no desire to see it although I LOL'd at the first one.

You'll see it. :y: Your kids will make you.

CBright7831 05-21-2004 01:41 AM

You know what's sad about the Shrek series? This is the only thing Eddie Murphy has going for him now. :'(

DaveWadding 05-21-2004 03:44 AM

Azriel 05-21-2004 09:02 AM

i want to see it

Danny Electric 05-21-2004 11:05 AM

I've been waiting for this for ages.

"I'm all alone, there's no one here beside me..."

John la Rock 05-21-2004 02:49 PM

ya I kind of wanna see it too since I liked Shrek

Nowhere Man 05-21-2004 03:13 PM

The first Shrek gave me a good chuckle or two (not as many as I'd hoped, though, after the mountains of hype around it), but seriously, what is there to do in the sequel? I mean, all the loose ends were tied up, the bad guy was killed off, and the novelty of the first movie wore off for me after the first hour or so. But, since there's money to be made, they're going to milk this bad boy for all it's worth.

Poor Eddie Murphy. He used to be one of the funniest guys in the business, and now he's stuck doing family-friendly kiddie movies with the overrated buffoon who ruined Dr. Seuss (Dana Carvey > Mike Myers)

Smitty 05-21-2004 03:27 PM

Sid the Sloth > Donkey

Boondock Saint 05-22-2004 02:40 AM

Just saw it tonight. This was damn funny. Story runs a little thin compared to the first, but I think the jokes are even better this time.

:y:

AareDub 05-22-2004 03:44 AM

Yea I just saw it tonight. I laughed my ass off. The fairy godmother kinda bored me, but the rest was great. Definitely worth checking out.

Buzzkill 05-22-2004 04:18 PM

I just saw it, and all I can say is, it was ****ing GREAT. Was laughing nearly the whole time.

mitch_h 05-23-2004 10:43 PM

Wow it opened with 104 million dollars. Thats the second biggest opening next to Spider-man I believe.

DS 05-23-2004 10:48 PM

Thought it was quite hilarious. Much better then the first.

Y2Crippler 05-24-2004 12:56 AM

I just got home from seeing it. Hilarious. I loved it even more than the first.

Scarface 05-24-2004 05:55 AM

Shrek was pretty good. Not a Patch on the legend that is Toy Story though. Although the compensating jokes were funny.

Azriel 05-24-2004 09:05 AM

Hillarious. Funnier than the first by far.
"That's not mine"

"He's wearing a thong"

Definite must have on DVD

KleptoKlown 05-24-2004 01:58 PM

lmao, this movie was great, all ages at the theater..all laughing.

- spoiler -

That "Cops" rip off, where puss was caught with a bag of catnip made me laugh so hard, as well as Donkey doing his prince charming hair twirl thing when he was that noble steed :D

samichna 05-24-2004 02:01 PM

Klepto, you are so gay

KleptoKlown 05-24-2004 02:30 PM

CBright7831 05-24-2004 10:23 PM

I just got back - it's better than the first one! Puss-In-Boots stole the show.

Jason Cage 05-24-2004 10:31 PM

125 mil since opening on thursday

The Man of Skill 05-27-2004 02:12 AM

I saw it the other day. I must say it was definatly much funnier than the first one. When I watched the first one, I laughed half as much as Shrek 2... less than half.

John la Rock 05-29-2004 05:21 PM

It was really good. Loved the cat dude :y:

Really? You'd think yo... nevermind.

I think everyone should see the second one. The subtle references and jokes are hilarious, like when (kinda spoilers, highlight to read)Shrek is covered in mud at the beginning... MONGO's final words... Puss in Boots saying "I hate Mondays" in the bar... it was just awesomeness. Also, the pepper.

Also, was Capt. Hook Tom Waits? Seems like he changed voices from the first to second song... :wtf:

MVP 05-30-2004 03:15 PM

I agree with Klepto, I laughed so hard.

Hardkore Kidd J 05-30-2004 08:07 PM

Great movie Antonio Bandaras was great as Puss In Boots.
