WM 31 needs something to make it exciting given the fans didn't get Bryan in the main event and everything seems rather "flat" (chested).

A Starrcade revival would actually be a good thing and maybe if Sting did hypothetically take control he could introduce it as a new PPV given there has been some rejigging of the calendar and "Fast Lane" will never take on imo.


I would say get rid of the gimmick match titled PPVs like HIAC, Extreme Rules, TLC given that these gimmicks are and will be used again and again at other PPVs. Heck I'd even suggest getting rid of MITB but maybe given what's at stake i.e. the briefcase, it would safe from the axe.

Would be nice to have PPVs again we would actually look forward to with the high probability of quality matches and title changes rather than waiting for Mania all the time to deliver.

They need to make it No-DQ and have it be where a position such as President or Commissioner or something where they have "oversight" or can trump HHH/Steph and is untouchable even with Vince McMahon is on the line for Sting vs Sting leaving forever. I think they need a neutral/face-leaning authority figure who only shows up occasionally and can be the deus ex mahina on occasion. This would make Sting's appearances special and "oh shit, business is about to pick up, King!" Moments ala Commish HBK or Linda McMahon during the Attitude Era or a Jack Tunney/Gorilla Monsoon back in the day. It also lends itself to a major power struggle angle between the McMahons and Sting when it's time to replace Sting. Then, they can appoint somebody who they think is in their back pocket, but stands up for what is right. I think that could be a great spot for Edge down the road.

Well my hunch for a while has been that it would be an all or nothing; Sting v Triple H for ultimate control of WWE i.e. if Sting wins, the Authourity is gone period. They've been alluding to this with the "interview" with Arn Anderson and Michael Hayes and the segment with Booker T when they suggest "not everyone is happy with the way Triple H is dealing with things" etc.

This would be a point to clarify if and when Sting talks before Mania maybe going some way to explain why he intervened at Survivor Series and on Raw.

The Authority storyline was bound to come to a head at some point and if it wasn't say Bryan involved then this was the next best option in theory.

That's not to say it'd be the end of Triple H in-ring or both him and Steph on TV but I suspect they are looking to take a back seat.


The fans would have surely wanted this to have been a story involving Daniel Bryan i.e. Bryan clawing his way back into title contention despite the Authority putting him down and laying it all on the line once an for all. For some odd reason that didn't happen. We now have two "main events" which nobody seems to be getting excited about and the IC title ladder match looks as if it could steal the show.

I don't think they need to blow their wad on "destroying" The Authority on this match. Sting/HHH doesn't need that ridiculous of a stipulation. Save that to put over a young guy at a SummerSlam or Survivor Series or next year's WrestleMania. Dolph Ziggler going to war with The Authority for the next year culminating in him beating HHH in an I Quit match would make him forever. I really want to see a Dolph/HHH match, and he could hang with HHH on the mic and have some barbs ala CM Punk/Daniel Bryan that would make it very intriguing for casual fan and smark alike. Dolph Ziggler being determined to make HHH pay for ruining his life/career/passion would give Dolph that "seriousness" he needs to go to that next level.

Imagine HHH being so cocky and drunk with power that Dolph challenges him to put the idea that he'd die for WWE and his job to the test in an I Quit match. HHH loses, and Dolph wins the right to a World Title Match and the power to name the new COO of WWE. They could milk that angle for months as Dolph drags his feet naming a COO due to focusing on title match, listening to others, and having the battle between the angel and devil on his shoulder. Does he do the right thing or does he "show off" and do what is simply best for Dolph.

Dolph has enough history and mic skills to make that moral conflict interesting and last for weeks.

But then I really don't the point of Sting v Triple H it just seems likes a pointless distraction if there's nothing at stake for what on paper should be a highly anticipated match. Their statuses alone don't seem to be adding to any sort of hype etc. The only thing making this exciting is tuning in to see when Sting will speak.


However with regards to Ziggler and Triple H, it could be if Sting beats Triple H (I can't see any other result, why would Sting sign for just one match to lose?) this makes the Authority look weak and Ziggler jumps on this and starts a feud with Triple H culminating at Summer Slam?

Sting/HHH is just like Taker/HHH from WM27. It doesn't need a lot of bullshit. The match isn't to draw the young fans in anyway. They are harping on WCW/attitude era for a reason: they are trying to hook that lost fanbase back in.

Or boost subscriptions for the network?

Hence the reason why a few star in the last year or so who were big in both WWE and WCW being inducted into the HoF; Savage, Hall, Madusa, soon to be Nash etc?
